Seems like you already made your decision, and the best thing would be to be honest with your current employer. Go to SF where you feel your calling is, BUT, ensure that the demo could be handled by your peers. Let them know of your plans and that this is some opportunity which you would not want to miss. If the company totally cares for your well-being, they should (and I assume) would understand.
