Exactly, every company here in the Bay area, however crappy their technology stack or the actual work you will be doing, will put you through a process akin to FAANG. As much as I love tech and have kept my skills up to date, this ridiculousness has left many truly creative engineers demoralized. I have reached a point where I want to leave tech altogether.
