A huge chunk of our economy is real-estate and finance[1], so that's not too surprising. Everyone thinks the path to getting rich is to buy houses / condos. They're in for a nasty surprise I think. It's never a good idea to go crazy leveraging debt. When you combine that with all of the insane student loan debt people go into (I know someone on their 4th university degree!), then it's a recipe for disaster.

4 university degrees is probably cheaper than 1 private school degree from the US

Well, you have to pay your other life expenses during that period.

If you don't work and spend 30k on rent, food, utilities, etc., then you get 30k deeper into debt every year. Even if there's no tuition.

I don't know how you made that happen but my cost of living expenses while in college never exceeded $10kCAD a year

Statement still stands, public to public in many areas the US is going to cost much more (up to 3X). It just gets REALLY gross when you bring in the private schools.

Also, Canadians typically continue to live with their parents for undergrad university. They don't migrate as much as US students do.

Your article actually says it ranges from 1.5x as expensive (so very similar) to 4.5x for the cheapest Canadian schools.
