It's terrible advice to five year olds though. Most people are decent, nothing bad will come of talking to strangers in the overwhelming majority of cases (particularly if it's someone you approach rather than someone who approaches you). Whereas we've had children e.g. come close to dying of exposure because they'd been taught not to talk to strangers.
