You think it's obvious that Intel would commit securities fraud?

By your analogy they already did with 10nm. ( And arguably 14nm )

I didn't make an analogy. And, I was replying to the fact that my parent said they would lie about it.

It's one thing to have been wrong (even carelessly) about 10nm (more than once). It's another to say that a company officer would intentionally lie (to a group of professional investors no less)

Like they did with their initial xpoint announcements? They were cutting zeros off their performance numbers for months to come :p

If that wasn't lying, I don't know what is.

You will have to look back at every single statement in their pubic and investor meeting to judge wether they were intentionally lying about 10nm. To me, they were.

check those links provided in my reply. Intel has already committed such fraud multiple times.

let's don't forget that its ex-CEO sold all his shares before the Meltdown and Spectre went public, yet he managed to walk away free of any charges on such obvious wrongdoings.

He's innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. CEOs have to plan ahead of time to sell their shares, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SEC_Rule_10b5-1
