Offer HN: I'll Post Your Startup

After pg's posting explaining why "rate my startup" posts have been killed, I decided I'd smooth over the interim. If you are new to HN and can't post your own startup, I will be happy to post it for you (provided, of course, it's legit). I'll also do my best to provide some personalized feedback of my own.

My contact information is in my profile. Best of luck to all startups on HN, hope I can help you out.

I don't really like this idea all that much. I consider it spam when a new account posts anything just to attempt to get some quick and easy eyeballs on their project/startup and they have never contributed to HN before that. It feels like they are trying to game our system and I think your offer would only help them do that. What's wrong with earning your way to a RMS post? It would weed out the people who wouldn't stick around for the long run anyway.

I like the idea. I would not consider users that don't contribute enough to hn but want to get feedback equal to spammers. May be such egoistic approach is not so good for community but this is not spamming.

If Luke wants to donate his time, risk his karma and review few RMS submission from news users I would only support him. At least he could find some gems and it's good for community.

I think it is a good idea because how else an individual with no budget get his startup started :) I think this is part of bootstrapping, lending a hand and giving a fair chance, imho

Thanks for the offer but I agree with others in thinking people should earn the right to have the community review their work. What level of participation justifies that right is the real question. Any thoughts?

Good idea. He is volunteering to act as a spam filter. Human spam filters are the best kind.

What if what you have is not really a startup but really something that you think is just a coding project - but nevertheless still want feedback from the community?

Do an "Ask HN: What do you think of this coding project?"
