Are you sure about the security thing? Less critical bugs? Do you have any data to back that up?

No I'm writing completely from my own experience running stable releases of Linux distros such as Debian and CentOS.

Very rarely I've had to install Fedora on some intranet to get a specific feature but I can count the times on one hand.
