I never even heard of it.
I work with regulations because I'm in charge of IT at a small but busy healthcare provider. We're like 3 people who handle ISO certification and NIST compliance, on the side.
Because it's a legit question, like if a companye can lay off thousands of people and still run their service, what were they all doing?
I also feel like there's no point in making a CV in HTML for my website, if I'm going to re-make it in PDF for all the old school application processes out there.
My solution was simply to keep the online CV as simple as possible, so it still looked good in PDF. But it's far from perfect.
Does that work with Hallstatt too? I've never been there.
You lack the hacker mindset if you think you "must" do anything the way it was designed.
Most giant Minecraft map projects are automated as much as possible. It would be a real labor of love on the spectrum otherwise, and who can maintain that?
The first thing that pops up for my city of Malmö is the school stabbing that happened in 2022. They're so rare here, and yet Wikipedia felt I just had to see it.
I'm not going to make stupid feature requests, but it would be cool with a filter for types of Wikipedia articles to show.
It's hilarious watching old European neonazis allying themselves with Israel today.
The confusion is palpable.
I'm reading that as many new AI assisted code patches. Not everyone does an obviously bad job at submitting AI assisted code.
Not a criticism, just an observation.
Who are these people that want priceless art they can't show anyone?
Remember when Kim Kardashian accidentally took a picture of herself next to some stolen statue? So it was uncovered because of her negligence.
It sort of hints that there's this class of ultra rich people who move in their own stratosphere and look at each other's possibly stolen art without snitching each other out.
Then one day I saw the woman walk her 4 dogs and feed these crows. Then I started putting it together, she has smaller dogs, about the same size as mine.
So these crows, presumably, had seen me and my dog about 2km away from where she normally walks her dogs, and came over for food. My dog just thought they were something to chase.
But we just went with standard national insurance, and the total cost is never revealed to us so I can't even tell you what it costs on their end.
We reach a certain level of cost, it was maybe around 250 dollars at that time, after that threshold they pay everything for the rest of the year, until the threshold resets
They rolled out the red carpet for us, they gave us everything, we essentially had a direct line into the oncology ward. They also gave us all the meds we needed. At one point we wanted to go to SE Asia and they gave us twice the meds we needed for an entire month so we could mail one half, and take the other half with us, with doctor's notes, as redundancy!
And no we didn't pay a dime for any of it.
But if you don't have cancer, then I agree with the first statement of the blog, you really have to act as your own project manager when it comes to health care.
Just came back from doing a bit of research and apparently I can use Bitwarden to generate and store passkeys.
I have been dismissing the entire concept because I assumed it had to do with hardware keys, which I would never trust. But if it's bitwarden, then I can easily do a backup, and that would be very reliable.
I think I'm going to start using passkeys... :D
I keep seeing major players promoting their own apps over standard TOTP, which I guess could be seen as a sort of proprietary passkey. Shopify, Google, Microsoft, and more, they all want you to download their app for MFA, instead of using a very open format.
As someone who works in IT, I just can't even imagine myself doing this. I have probably around 60 codes in my Aegis, how would it look if I had just a quarter of those in apps instead?
But the main issue I have with passkeys is the simple issue of backups. I can backup my Aegis keys, I can't backup an app, or a hw passkey. I have to get a second one, and keep signing for it or something, not sure of the details, I just know it would be a major hassle. And there is no way I'm trusting a little usb device to not break.
Right now I see no compelling reason to switch from regular OTP codes, change my mind.
It took time for me to mature and see others this way.
Like the recent ransomware attack on a Swedish Svedala municipality, still no root cause published on that?
I use the same trick for dogs, I narrow my eyes slightly to show that I'm not staring at them wildly. Even if they just stare back.
Staring is a stress reaction, you're 100% focused on a potential threat.
These headlines keep excusing humans from the equation, I really don't like this. I expect us to hear about a Yemeni wedding being shot up by a "model" in a near future. No one is responsible anymore.
I just setup Windows speech to text for him last week and it's great to see how he can write an entire page in 10 minutes, it would take him days using the keyboard.
But every single sound he makes with his mouth ends up on the page too.
The way I described AI when I first encountered it was "Google on steroids", and honestly it hasn't proven me much wrong. It takes all the results we used to find on Google, and generates code from it, so what? It's still just Google on steroids to me.
Don't google "how to hide a body", just as well as you shouldn't ask your AI how to hide a body. Not much has changed overall.
