That pretty much describes my situation. Thankfully I enjoy both, and doing the one that pays well allows me to buy better instruments than I could as a working musician. Yup, I'm the guy in the corner with the multi-thousand dollar axe that can't play for shit. But, hey, mandolin makers gotta eat, too. And if it weren't for us "more money than skill" players, a lot more makers would go hungry. </shrug>
