Comparing nights-watch with Operations Team

There seems to be striking similarity between the operations team that have to fight hard (almost a losing war) to protect the production servers - when faced with scale or performance issues.

What alliances should these operations team forge to fight the coming war -- with unimaginable magnitude of containers getting deployed in production.
