He's a whistle-blower? What information did he reveal that's illegal or unethical?

This political piece doesn't seem like hacker news material to me!

He's not revealing anything new. Trump is pretty open about his hatred of climate scientists and his efforts to stop them from doing their work.

However, it's definitely unethical and I'm surprised there isn't more outcry about it.

I'd assume it'd be unethical to move trained scientists to accountant jobs at tax-payer expense, no?

He showed that the Trump government is moving people to unrealted jobs and wasting tax payer in an under handed way to cut government jobs. So that is sort of whiskey blowing

I think the TL;DR would be "the Trump administration is moving civil servants that are vocal in regards to global warming from their expert positions and moving them to jobs where they cannot impact change".

I'm sorry, but I can't help but think this isn't whistle blowing. It seems more like self aggrandizement.

The administration has always publicly stated it wanted to reduce head count in these areas. It probably can't just fire these folks due to existing laws or union agreements, so they are working with the tools they have.

While this guy might have been helping "hundreds of people" I don't think that count is high enough to warrant the attention of the federal government. Let Alaska take care of it. We have tiered governments (town, county, state, federal) for a reason.

I don't think anything illegal is going on here, so it just sounds like sour grapes wrapped in a thin veil of patriotism.
