Yes, a Theranos employee committed suicide.

A Theranos employee committed suicide during and partially as a result of Holmes' scam. There were deaths inside the company โ nevermind the potential ones inside.

How many defaced pictures of peoples' kids redistributed to harass people? FYI: I see that insane failure of human decency happening in 2018, on Facebook, in reality currently.

There's a well-known reason for these requirements: they are an attrition tactic. It erects barriers to obtaining insurance benefits. Many give up, reducing the costs to the insurance company. It happens with WAY more than chairs, and is fundamentally unethical.

This. Who the hell goes to legal and creates PR risk instead of just hiring the dude?

And by writing that way they likely underweight the PR risk to their business. It's their choice, but it sure as hell just turned me off.

Those terms bind Slack users. This problem goes away if the maintainer doesn't use Slack and has never used Slack. It wouldn't be efficient, but it'd be possible.

Especially someone who has no existing contractual, customer, or ToS relationship with Slack.

Still waiting. Does your moderation actually have any teeth, or is it just a bunch of hot air like all of the eugenics-loving psychopaths you guys continually coddle on here spew?

Welcome to HN, where you get downvoted for asking for a citation, and then downvoted again because you're not allowed to complain about the moronic retaliatory downvoting.

You said it twice.
This is what lack of emotional intelligence looks like. If you can't figure out how what you typed could be interpreted in this way by others, I feel very badly for you.

Coincidentally, these are all assets in persuasion and will allow you to efficiently ally with other human beings to multiply your effectiveness.

Oh, you mean the guy who's the subject of a criminal investigation and has had half of his campaign taken down over money laundering, influence-peddling, and fraud? That guy? Weird example, but okay.

Lower than average intelligence does not cause people to become "wife beaters". The lack of emotional intelligence on display in this whole comments section is deeply and painfully ironic.

I'm not limiting it to China because the same syndrome has happened elsewhere to multiple people, and a cause must be found. Brushing problems away because of one subsequent potentially-questionable report does not solve them.

You are conflating IQ with criminality. These people live and exist and breathe and eat and occupy space. Where are you going to put all the bodies when you're done?

> Here is the hard thing to swallow: Some people are worth more than others.
This type of rhetoric is what put an incompetent lying reality television star in the White House. Signaling to people they are worth less than others hurts them on an emotional level regardless of veracity. People who are emotionally hurt can and will make problems for you.
People with high emotional intelligence understand this, will avoid pressing that button, and will achieve better outcomes in their endeavors as a result.

And that was the entire point of the article. IQ is not a direct measure of skill in all arbitrary domains, yet skill is valuable to society in many of those domains.

That's great, but you alleged this was the cause of a specific person's symptoms. Your citation does not support your claim โ it's circumstantial and speculative.

Why do you believe this? Cite evidence. You're certainly doing no better than the article here.
