Is it just me, or are those pictures clearly renderings?

think of any hardware feature or spec you’d like to see in your dream phone, and the HD3 has it – in spades!

I really hate claims like this. I want a physical keyboard, front-facing camera, trackball, dual-core CPU and Android. This phone has none of those.

The article reads with a bit of hype, but all of the commentary aside, the specs are pretty impressive.

In particular, the 4.5" screen at 1280 x 800, 1.5Ghz Snapdragon, and 1 GB RAM are incredible specs. I'm curious how affordable this phone will be.

This is a fake. Windows Phone 7 requires 800x480 as their largest display resolution (they also permit a smaller display... Something like 480x320).

If such a device exists, it will be an Android device. I suspect it is an all-up fake.

1.5Ghz for this device and 2.0Ghz planned for end of 2010 smartphones. Is this the same "race" of Pentiums and Athlons?

offtopic: In 2005 i bought a Fujitsu Siemens laptop with same resolution, 1.66Ghz y and 1GB RAM. (1000€ —16% VAT— in Spain)

The HTC HD3 will probably cost nearly the same. This is one expensive phone.

I'm curious what the battery life will be. All of features are great, but I can't help but think that trying to watch a movie at 1080p on my phone would drain the battery significantly.

Those screen specs would be in the area of 330ppi.

That blog post is 3.5 months old (from March 15th, 2010).

Why is it appearing on HN now?

It's from March 15th and we haven't seen anything else since. If it's a true leak, why didn't it catch on? Color me skeptical.

Sounds like a real battery-burner.

I want this in MeeGo.

Hearing a phone with such great specs runs a Windows OS is like hearing that you won a brand new house but the interior is painted from floro to ceiling with feces. Sorta.

I'll take the house.

You can clean feces, but can you reflash this phone with Android? The physical world is a lot more forgiving than the software world.
