TV and cable puts out a lot of shows, so their top 5% is going to be better than netflixes average. But, IMO Netflix's average is fairly decent. It can also take a while for a show to hit it's groove. http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/GrowingTheBeard
