I don't see any patents made by him in the google patent search :/

Thanks! Did he file a sw patent for you?

Re:Facebook’s New (Evil) Plan to Grab New Users on Saturday August 18, 2012 @10:13AM (#4401172)
As of the FB app on my iPhone, when I wanted to connect it with my phones data (to get extra phone numbers of my friends, and see their profile pics), I was asked to agree that the app can upload the data to FB and let them use it whatever way they want to. (Read: all the phone numbers in my phone, not in the FB app.) That really blew my mind. I didn't agree, but if 500 people have your phone number in their phones, the chance that none of them agrees is zero.

You have an obsolete finger

We are all told we use the the base 10 number system because we have 10 fingers. Weird, as we never use the number '10'. It probably comes from the Roman numerals as by the time 30 was written 'XXX'. But now the number '10' is obsolete as of Arabic numerals, so is you finger I guess. :)# don't try to correct this at home

thank you
Re:Ask HN: What PR book should I read? on Monday May 21, 2012 @07:54AM (#4002393)
Thank you Dirk.

I was looking in the PR book you suggested and also in many others I have found. Let me be straight, I find all of them dry, boring and useless. I had little idea about PR, and I still have little, but I start to realize it is a different animal from what a startup would need. It feels like something mysterious and don't believe in mystery.

You did actually help me to the conclusion, that I will just skip learning PR now and focus on marketing, like rmATinnovafy said. I did need your input, thank you.

This looks interesting as well. Thank you!
Re:Ask HN: What PR book should I read? on Friday May 18, 2012 @06:41PM (#3994403)
Isn't this just a book about lies?

I'd like to read things that our startup could benefit from. We definitely don't want to lie.

Thanks Matthew, appreciate your comment. However, I'd really liked to dive deeper into the topic.

Wow, this guy wrote a number of books! They look very interesting, thanks a lot!

Ask HN: What PR book should I read?

I am working on a startup and realized the importance of PR - and that I have no clue about it. Can you suggest me a book? (Or point me in any direction?)I am very much interested in -what makes people tick -what to do - with reasoning -what not to do - with reasoningThank you in advance!

Re:Recursive Drawing on Thursday May 10, 2012 @10:13AM (#3953559)
I think you are onto creating a graphical programming language.

You implemented: -variables (shapes in left windows) -objects (collection of variables, the left column, pass by reference) -addition (drag in the middle) -unset (delete) -while(1) loop -multiplication (resize)

I don't know yet where rotation fits into the picture. Maybe its just that "primitive types" in a graphical programming language would be more complex, they could be described with -shape -size -orientation -position

I think I have a use-case for you. Maybe we could talk about it thalter at zupa hu

Congrats, fascinating!

You are a complete idiot :D (good fun thumbs up)

Re:The House Y Combinator Should Have Built on Thursday March 01, 2012 @04:29AM (#3651493)
I'd prefer a place that is less perfect. Where you can dig things into the wall, change the furniture or paint your room. Give a place but don't take my freedom.

Besides, it looks amazing! I just didn't want to move in:)

Re:The House Y Combinator Should Have Built on Thursday March 01, 2012 @04:23AM (#3651484)
Disagree. What makes it investor's place? If the investors are always around. It would help in connecting with each other. It does not need to be free..
Re:PHP: v8.js on Friday February 24, 2012 @11:49AM (#3629798)
I have to say: this is incredibly intresting! I woulbe be curious how one can pass-in variables.

I'm afraid you can not get much out of the great features of JS. Event drivenness..

Anyway, this blows my mind!

Re:Show HN: YC like button on Friday February 24, 2012 @10:39AM (#3629468)
I find it boring to see an apple with a writing: "Eat it!". I guess I can figure it out myself what to do with an apple.

I think it's great to know who you are dealing with, I have a picture of me on my business card as well. Maybe you should concider it.

PG: do you feel you burned your hands with those kind of startups not transferred from RFS2008 to RFS2009? ( For others: http://ycombinator.com/ideas.html , http://ycombinator.com/rfs.html )

If I may go specific, does the idea of a web OS make you go "OMG, forget it"?

Re:Show HN: A storebuilder contained in a single text area on Tuesday October 25, 2011 @08:36PM (#3156577)
Maybe you could use an excel like table as well if the textarea makes a lot trouble. (I like it though..) Nice job!
Re:Watch other people code on Wednesday September 14, 2011 @08:27AM (#2995945)
I think it is a good idea, but..

(1) do you really want to do it live? Why not do it the youtube way? Store the videos, rate them, comment with videos, etc.

(2) you could instead of making true videos split it into 2 parts. Making a video, and attach a text area to it so users can copy/paste your code. One could see the changes live.

(3) I guess this works hard if you want to present an SDK. Maybe you could turn the editable fields into text areas? At least the main one. Kind of a layer over the video.
