Now that's just pretentious and not true.

What you're saying is you've solved problems that other people can't solve themselves... isn't that the basis for almost any startup?

Re:Ask HN: What's a good resource for a 9 year old to learn programming?
on Tuesday October 22, 2013 @08:46PM (#6596019)
+1 for scratch. It's a great way for kids to learn programming without getting bored. Show them how to make an account and share their games with the community and they'll be hooked. The same skills learned from scratch transfer over to more advanced languages.
Re:How To Send Bitcoin Tips On Reddit

Reddit's tipping product doesn't actually send money, just a shiny "gold" image and a few minor gold-exclusive features.

...And (3) force people to either create a Coinbase account or lose their money. (The post wasn't very clear, but as I understand it the receiver will get a PM linking them to Coinbase where they will need to sign up to receive their money).
I don't want to just sound cynical, so I'll try to provide a solution. Perhaps there should be an option to reply to the BitTip PM with a regular Bitcoin address where all future payments will be sent.

Oh come on... anyone who finds a simple human/monkey analogy insulting is way too sensitive.

Pure binary.
Re:A landing page using HTML and GIF only

Considering that this "landing page" is only an image and a button, that fact that no JavaScript or CSS was used isn't very impressive.

Congrats on your first app. Twitter is always fun to work with. What did you use to make it?
PS the "tag that" button isn't working.

You can't, the "Twittern" (you made a typo) button is covering it.
I don't understand the point of Pltts. The top 20 colours are just ColourLovers top 20 colours. Why not browse ColourLovers that has the exact same stuff, plus much MUCH more?

These aren't really hidden, the "lists" link is at the bottom left of the page. I did upvote this however because lots of people might not know about it.

I love this, it reminded me of Crime Cops [1]. The best part is that actual screenwriters might come across this while searching for tech dialog and not realise it's satire. Then again, it wouldn't be much different from the stuff Hollywood currently uses.

Re:Edward Snowden nominated for Nobel Peace Prize

I don't really understand the nobel peace prize, or specifically why Obama was awarded it. I understand being the first black president of the United States is a big deal, but did he personally do anything to promote peace? Or does being black in the white house somehow lower racism, hence promoting world peace?

Given the nature of this campaign the boost at the end will probably be larger. There will be a lot of hype when the final day comes and everyone will want to get their phones before it closes.
