No, they don't. They get a ton of tourist business especially because High Line is right there.
MLB occupies some space. But they were moving to midtown in 2019 but their lease is until 2022. Bamtech (recently acquired by Disney is there). I don't know what's going to happen for us. We'll find out.
Yes, I remember thesixtyone. You're right it was a great discovery tool for indie music. I just browse reddit.com/r/listentothis mostly on the comments to find something unique and interesting music.
Base Salary is just a tiny component of an executive's salary. It is a PR move. Executive salary is made up of Cash component (which includes Base Salary & Bonuses), & Equity.
Equity constitutes towards almost 99 percent of an exec's salary. There are short term equity plans and long term equity plans. The equity payouts are generally in millions.
Companies have to release a DEF14A (30-40 pages) each year to show Shareholder's how much the Top5 Execs were paid each year.
As a person who grew up reading Urdu in Pakistan- I can attest to the fact that I associate nastaliq with Urdu exclusively. Regardless of the history - his post is about what's currently happening with the Urdu script. If given the opportunity to read Urdu in nastaliq, I would probably read Urdu more often. I have tried reading BBC Urdu various times, and have given up due to the naskh script.

I had an idea and believed in it, took my own money; hired some Ruby Developers offshore, hired a designer locally and built a MVP. Currently working with test clients but need someone on board to be responsible for the tech and own it. I have learnt a lot and I really respect and appreciate the capabilities of a good hacker. Rather then spend time learning to code (which I still am) I worked with the developers to really understand the basics and run the company on my own. I can push and pull with Git, do little bit of DB management, Heroku is AMAZING! and I love EC2. But to grow more I need a guy who can own the code and really believe in the product.
This is my approach for hiring a good Technical CO-Founder!
Six months ago I decided to quit my day time job and move to Austin. I worked in Finance and there is no way the banks let you work remotely. I had been in my position for three years and in the last one year, almost all my managers left the group. I was the only one which had knowledge about all the critical processes.
I told my boss at that time that I am moving to Austin and if you really want me which you do, let me work remotely. They could not give me a contract and thus decided to keep on my same salary. I worked less and less hours every month until last month, when they decided they did not need me. I worked on my startup while getting paid and working barely 1-2 hours a week.
The American you are talking about is Greg Mortenson?
Congrats to the founders. Great insight on really how Heroku can be beneficial.
