Re:I Returned My iPhone Duo on Friday October 30, 2026 @05:30AM (#50301557)

Re:Chapter 1 of Ways of Seeing by John Berger on Sunday October 11, 2026 @05:21PM (#50047944)
Berger’s way of ‘seeing’ is to situate yourself in the time and place, less ocular than you may assume. And then he wrote the touching Cataracts, about how he lost his vision and gained a new way to see. He regained his vision and soon died. Possibly this is why you’ve been downvoted.

I would agree with the second, not necessarily the first.

Re:All the numbers: Amazon Prime Day 2026 powered by AWS on Thursday October 08, 2026 @02:23AM (#50002405)
Amazon UK and US now have a Price History button on products. It’s not quite as good as camel used to be, but it’s a convenient.

Dramatised yes. Overdramatised no. This is a dramatic period of history.

Great naming scheme that doesn’t even survive exchange rates, or future price changes.

Re:Ask HN: What are you working on? (September 2026) on Tuesday September 15, 2026 @09:01AM (#49711901)
I find the underlining of the period in "school holidays." very jarring.

This is the effect of AI on most intellectual disciplines, and it’s a real worry.

In case it wasn't obvious - it wasn't obvious to me from the 43 mentions of it in the article - beads is a product by the same author. There was an HN post on it 8 months ago https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=46075616 (68 comments). I've not tried it.
