have you all heard of Guardtime?

https://guardtime.com/cybersecurity-platform https://eprint.iacr.org/2013/834.pdf

They seem to be used by the GE predix platform and it looks very similar to the concepts in this thread.

https://www.predix.io/services/service.html?id=1881

that looks licensed from Ericsson which licensed Guardtime.. haha

they even go so far as to provide a specialized and hardened hardware device to signing operations at scale.

too bad its proprietary!!

Re:New Tools for OCF Discovery and Device Onboarding on Tuesday January 10, 2017 @04:29PM (#13369216)
OCF is Interesting, I was at CES and there were so many stupid one off consumer IoT platforms there and then the OCF had a huge area and some cool demos showing some cool interoperability with a wide range of devices using a unified data model and api.

"Finally, at query time, we bring together the real-time views from the set database and the batch views from S3 to compute the result"

so how in the heck does this work? at query time you decide what file to get our of s3 (hwo do u decide this?), parse it, filter it, and merge with the results from the custom made Redis like real time database?

isn't the link on their github to the packet format?

I love this release Google needed to take a direction there are so many use cases for this sort of micro proximity I cannot wait to see what folks can do without freaking people out over privacy..

Re:Fun With iBeacon on Wednesday July 09, 2014 @05:01PM (#8012210)
we use these primarily but have used others including estimote since 2013...

https://www.gimbal.com/gimbal-proximity-beacons

less than 5 dollars each for series 10 and a security model that folks should seriously look into IMO...or u can use iBeacon configuration.

Originally by Qualcomm so u know the hardware is solid.

Re:Golang overtakes Clojure in Goggle Trends on Sunday February 09, 2014 @10:41PM (#7208970)
I'm stopping my focus on clojure right away because go is trending!!!... lol

I've yet to see anything from go that makes it worth the investment for me in 2014..clojure solves all my needs and then some.. and there are oh so many needs..

great video outlining how datomic was implemented using clojure..I would say this is a large sized system....

I have built a larger system in clojure and do not have the same concerns..I feel for the first time in a while I have a powerful tool at my disposal and will be my tool of choice for now..

Re:Immutability, MVCC, and garbage collection on Sunday December 29, 2013 @12:06AM (#6978480)
The author needs to read up way more on datomic... and clojure for that matter then try again...

Re:Clojure: The JFDI language on Thursday November 28, 2013 @10:19AM (#6814842)
Great overview..

from direct work experience in building complex systems in clojure....I agree with all the statements made in this document...

I am a better developer because of it and will look at things differently if I need to pick up java or scala again..

and I will also make sure to always "get in the hammock" before writing a line of code..

A Entrepreneur/Hacker Vacation?

Would anyone like to go to an Exotic location with a very fast Internet connection, some cool hardware, and TONS of contests, learning sessions and hackathon style events? The resort would have a great outside and inside setup so you could move around and code by the pool, etc... then at night gaming and contests with live music and entertainment and cool speakers...I would spend 5-7 days...
