so a product with good brand and following has not much value without the original founders and teams ? Can't the product be run by a different team and company?

There are many situations where another company could see value in buying a product that the acquirer is no longer interested in maintaining.

There's another quick way. As a Malaysian national, if you have a master's degree or 5 years of work experience. If you can get a US company to employ you and sponsor your green card. You can get it within just a year.

that's $1600/ hour. Are you kidding me ?

"I notice several skyscrapers built over the past few months that aren't displayed yet"

that's a crazy pace !, compared to seeing the same unmistakable window view at San Jose/ SF every single year.

Re:CAPTCHA Arbitrage on Wednesday November 24, 2010 @06:23AM (#1937072)
I combed through the paper and found this paragraph for you guys, the organization only answered two Klingon ones correctly:

---

Finally, the results for ImageToText are impressive. Relative to the other services, ImageToText has appre- ciable accuracy across a remarkable range of languages, including languages where none of the other services had few if any correct solutions (Dutch, Korean, Viet- namese, Greek, Arabic) and even two correct solutions of CAPTCHAs in Klingon. Either ImageToText recruits a truly international workforce, or the workers were able to identify the CAPTCHA construction and learn the correct answers. ImageToText is the most expensive service by a wide margin, but clearly has a dynamic and adaptive labor pool.

The article's stenched with dramatic license to exude noir excitement. In reality, it's just like most Asian cosmopolitans. I've lived there.

This writer could write ten pages about the terrors of your own dark basement if he wanted to.

>> How do we check it out?

I think he meant if he could test drive the service, instead of a landing page that's just some copywriting

the essay seems to be framed as a lament, on youthful apathy toward the doctrine/concept of "original sin". Who here agrees with his framework, that it is pre-requisite knowledge for a nation's success ?

Re:Ask HN: Where do you get your unbiased news? on Monday July 12, 2010 @05:47AM (#1507340)
There's no such things as unbiased news, all news stories are written for their specific audiences across geography and culture. All news stories of the same event have different narratives, to fit according to the intuition and interests/expectations of the intended audience.

When people say BBC news or some other news is less biased (some say read Chinese news about the US). It's really because it's a different narrative that sounds new/fresh, it covers different tangents that boring local media has never went.

So just watch whatever fits your taste/ideology.But if you are out to change your perspective and encompass as many divergent views as possible.

Just go for the highest contrast, and read history.
