News for hackers. Stuff that matters.

It's completely standard. If you encrypt the password in the browser, potential hackers have access to the encryption code which makes it useless.

Check the network tab in dev-tools when logging in to hn for example and you'll see your password in the request body :)

It's limited by the fact that you need a very large volume of lighter-than-air gas to lift a human. The theoretical maximum lift capability of 1 m^3 of hydrogen is just about 1.1 kg so you will need a really big airship to carry a passenger.
Re:Do not use NPM 5.7 on Saturday February 24, 2018 @03:36PM (#16455246)
As far as I know it's not feasible to use Github repos instead of npm, at least for client-side code. Most packages are compiled from ES6 (or typescript, jsx etc) to ES5, and the generated code (which is what you want in your project) is usually not included in the git repo.
Nice one!
Re:Google Fires Employee Behind Controversial Diversity Memo on Tuesday August 08, 2017 @09:18AM (#14957487)
Quote from the article:

if anyone wishes to provide details as to how nearly every statement about gender in that entire document is actively incorrect,¹ and flies directly in the face of all research done in the field for decades, they should go for it. But I am neither a biologist, a psychologist, nor a sociologist, so I’ll leave that to someone else.

This article specifically avoids countering the original article point-by-point. I would love to see an article or comment that does that.
