> Anthropic's IPO Filing Warns It May Be 'Imminently' Close to Recursive Self-Improvement — But Its Own Data Shows the Loop Isn't Closed

Sorry, I'm sick of this kind of language games. If the loop really closed they wouldn't be calling it "close to RSI". Yhis is just not how the word "but" works in English.

Re:Show HN: Kvittas, an Expense Splitting App on Tuesday November 03, 2026 @09:33AM (#50352474)
I have been a huge fan of Splid.app, no account required and super simple to use
HN keeps reinventing HN-flavored things.

I built this to aggregate all the aggregators (like HackerTube, Hackerbooks etc.) that were popular a few days ago (they go back to 2011, at least).

thanks for reporting the heroku error - maybe it should remain that way to reflect how most side-projects die :/

how did you find all of them?

I am generalist senior software engineer who thrives at hard, challenging problems. At a cybersecurity startup, I built and shipped the frontend and platform single-handedly in eight months, all of that before agentic coding.

I also co-founded a startup and built its product end to end. I maintained about 100 packages in nixpkgs. I have a master's degree in mathematics, and did some research in inverse reinforcement learning.

I love things like: Emacs, NixOS, functional programming, category theory.

I'm looking for a generalist, full-stack or applied AI role on a high-agency, low-bullshit team. If you're building something ambitious, let's talk.

Enterprise customers don't like AI that can autonomously hack third party companies and cause felony-level cyberattacks.
Re:Gemini 4 Carbon on Wednesday October 28, 2026 @01:18PM (#50277100)
I wonder what kind of problems are they internally testing these frontier models if not math problems?
Re:Wealth Inequality in America drawn to scale on Wednesday October 28, 2026 @06:50AM (#50271526)
Tears fell through my eyes.
TBH, I am waiting for Mathocalypse-level progress in biology and medicine, but I guess that's not happening as fast, because it's the real world, human lives, etc., mostly etc.
Re:Claude Duet on Wednesday October 21, 2026 @04:39PM (#50187290)
Are people really okay giving these agents access to all areas of their lives? And what do you even use it for?
Not enough details

Hinton and Bengio, and previously let's say Stephen Hawking are not part of the same ideological movement.
Is a virus conscious? A bacteria? An insect? A fish? A tree? A mushroom? At what level of biological complexity slicing does consciousness arise?

If you are springing to type out the answer, stop for a moment and ask, how can you be sure?

And actually hire a bunch of people to work on this problem, invite philosophers etc. for discussions?

> Experience has shown that, even now, there will still be people explaining in patronizing tones why none of this is real and none of it counts. If such people were capable of being impressed by anything that happens in the empirical world, of updating on anything, they would’ve already been impressed and already updated several years ago, long before things had reached the point of an actual Mathocalypse.

A lot of these seem to be proving conjectures rather than finding counterexamples, a lot of people used that to claim that these models are not really smart/creative etc.

That copium didn't last for what, three months?

LeCun has been consistently wrong for the last ten years, I am not sure why he keeps being amplified.

Edit: I am sure, it's denial.

Why is it giving me Vlang vibe
Nice! I was thinking of building something like this for myself.

I'm a little worried that the complexity could be too much and dissatisfying if I have to spend a ton of time tweaking it.

anyone using any device/ app in this space they are happy about?
OpenAI agents these summer are like a gift that keeps giving, for the existential risk communicators.

Who is this by? Who verifies the result? Is there prize money?

HN, for the love of God, this is not marketing, these CEOs and employees are literally terrified of their lives.
