I will try to rewrite the copy and make it clearer.
Just fixed a bug that prevented registration with GitHub. It should be fine now. Sorry about that. This is a diary app where you can share your memories once a day and dedicate them to anyone you care about. At the same time, usage on the app builds reputation for all human beings, which will, hopefully, serve as a basis for a larger societal purpose...
If indefinite life extension ever becomes possible it would create an uberclass of people, those who could afford this new technology in the first place. A true god-like class defined by power and immortality. If you think social and economic inequality is bad, what about existential inequality?
Re:Why men can't and shouldn't stop staring at women on Tuesday April 10, 2012 @07:16AM (#3821649)
Because evolutionary sexual selection, as a process, has to start somewhere. No staring, no humanity as we know it. Lets all stare. Discreetly but not sheepishly.
Re:Why Users Don’t Fill Out Sign Up Forms on Friday April 06, 2012 @11:24AM (#3807465)
I hate that too. You have given your facebook data and they still ask for more and you still haven't tried the service yet.
And fire past sunset must have been a huge boost to socialization and safety of the tribe.
Re:Money & Affirmation on Sunday April 01, 2012 @04:48AM (#3783140)
I like what he is saying. Money is just one form of affirmation among many others. All of them respectable, money is just more tangible and conspicuous.
Privacy matters will only get worse and worse. At the end of the day, we are actually buying perfect snooping devices (cam, mic, gps) and wearing them 24/7. With our own money. And for the benefit of others, strangers or institutions.
Re:Frighteningly Unambitious Startup Ideas on Thursday March 29, 2012 @09:15PM (#3774034)
I don't think anyone can realistically expect to find a google-scale diamond in the rough at every single YC batch. "Frighteningly Ambitious Startup Ideas" I suppose is about a process of collective unconscious iteration that would yield such a diamond every 5 or 10 years.
Re:Consumption Addiction on Thursday March 29, 2012 @11:02AM (#3771365)
The problem of input (reading, listening, watching) without output (writing, speaking, doing) is that, at the end of the day, you have nothing to show for your time. And since none of us are telepaths, to the outside world, it is like you haven't even existed that day.
To think that the water I'm gonna drink today is the exact same water that soils, plants, animals have been drinking since the beginning of time, makes me feel connected...to dinosaurs! Our problem has never been quantity but recycling rate, and not realizing we are all in the same boat.
Re:Do we really give introverts a hard time? on Tuesday March 27, 2012 @10:28AM (#3761648)
Being an introvert in an extraverted world isn't all that bad. For being so much inside our own heads, we might actually have more experience, well, thinking, which is always nice.
Re:The universe is big. This big. on Tuesday March 27, 2012 @03:47AM (#3760508)
I like that. We are merely a tool for the navel-gazing of the universe. Interestingly enough, the tool itself navel-gazes about its own utility.
