News for hackers. Stuff that matters.

You have empathy for something mostly despised as a pest. Hackers are thought to have little, but sometimes I suspect we have more, so much more that is really the lack of reciprocation for our empathy others show for us that is the problem.
Deet is benign to humans. Lots of studies on it since it was invented to protect those building the Panama Canal.

You can also build bat houses. Bats feed almost exclusively on mosquitos. They eat more than their own body weight in them.

There is a great story behind this and I dug deep into the research and history dozens of links long but this might inspire you

Zucks the boss tho. I'd like to see it too. And I don't even use Facebook.

Just stop mowing and planting stuff. Your dog will thank you.

Or get citizenship in.
This trope had been regurgitated for decades. At least as far back as small talk.

It's not votes. They buy the votes with money and that's what matters.

Person > family > neighborhood > community > region > state > nation > > world

That's how decision making power should reign.

It burns away when the metal is melted. Not having glass recycling infrastructure supports p&t's point.
The individual should be sovereign over the self. You're fine needing permission to live. I'm not.

I was clear about treating conditions the patients had for years. You straw manned again.

You must have a conflict of interest. Maybe you are a doctor.

Glass as is too heavy. Penn and Teller did a bull shit on recycling. Only aluminum is good for consumer packaging wrt recycling.
Perhaps now we can start to allow patients to treat themselves? why should I need a doctor's permission to but insulin I know for a fact I need to live?

Or, did a rewrite and it launched them to success.
Then the title is a lie because it's not the hero engineers who are deadly. It's crappy managers but, "poor project management can be deadly to your project" is obvious and resulted in low click rates.
This is practically impossible advice. Hero engineers can't stand sitting back watching things fail because no one else on the team cares enough to succeed.

For the hero, either the project succeeds or fails. Step up! But non heros instead look for a target to blame and then proceed to sabotage that person and the project to ensure they don't get the blame themselves. Their job is to find ways to work as little as possible.

The hero's job is a successful project. If it fails the hero is to blame. At the end of the day, it's always the engineers' fault if it fails.

I can't believe this article blames the problems on those who step up to fix them.

Better just to ignore the problems?

Reminds me of the folks who say, "don't work so hard! You're making the rest of us look bad! "

Internet should be classed as a utility and regulated as such. Infrastructure and bits should be separate.
Inflation is by design. Currency derives from current, meaning: to flow. Currency is not meant to be a store of value. We don't want people to horde currency.

Bitcoin just misses the point of being a currency all together.

I love your site. I've visited it several times over what I seem to recall as years.

Thank you for all the hard work.

Because telecom companies' monopolies are easy to understand. Google doesn't have to run wires to everyone's house. In fact, they tried and failed. It's a lot harder than building a website.
Re:Note, this is not a “lifestyle job” on Monday June 03, 2019 @08:25PM (#20090541)
You are much more forgiving than I am. It should have been an instant refund.

If they make you fight for what is yours, then charge back. You don't have tolerate that kind of service.

Bitcoin was designed to eliminate the human influence that devalues fiat currency.

This war proves bit coin has failed in that regard.

That's not a valid flip, because: inflation.
Rich people and the government should spend more. Workers should spend less.
Imagine if you distributed gains according to contribution. In our system capital is disproportionately rewarded.

IMO, carried interest should be rewarded less than labor.

I mean really, if you're just sitting there drawing interest on great grandpa's labor's capital, why is that better than getting up and going to work everyday?

I rest my case.
It's not skilled work. anyone who can work can pick raspberries.

The skill you are discussing is to pick them fast enough for profitability. Thats true of any job.

By "Need" you actually mean want and "better" than what? We are living in a big house that is burning down.

But a big house is better?

You're making all this a means to an end, but we haven't gotten to the end yet.

The end the means of petroleum created is death.

That's neither needed nor better.

Why do we continue to debate climate change focusing on centuries old data when the carbon cycle takes hundreds of millions of years? Any data we've collected amounts to less than a rounding error.
Not fighting forest fires also helps.

Truth is forest fires are necessary. The bugs in forest fires, like destroyed homes and lives are because we are doing it wrong: https://www.vox.com/2018/8/7/17661096/california-wildfires-2...
