I knew the answers to all of these questions two years ago when I had just graduated, but I've completely forgotten what heapsort is (despite having used it a few times in programming contests) and cannot offhand remember what "bipartite" means (googled, saw the wikipedia image and instantly remembered maxflow and Ford–Fulkerson although I guess a DFS is good enough to determine bipartite-ness).

Why is the ability to retain this information at the top of my mind at all times necessary for me to be a Software Developer?

The article basically says "A football match is now like a complicated, high-level chess match. It takes deep understanding to know what's going on, so only those parts of the match that most viewers can understand ought to be screened". This is not sound. By extension one could argue that complicated games should not be screened at all.
What's wrong with using dojo for a module system, namespaces and OOP?

I discovered reddit 10 months ago and was amazed at the community. Then I quickly grew tired of the boring submissions and comments. Then I discovered reddit's secret - the lesser known subreddits.

The front page of my internet looks pretty interesting to me. It has a Tolkien article, a documentary about rainforest birds, some black-hole-milky-way-gamma-ray article, a usability article (Video captioning techniques and best practices), and a ton of history and grammar discussions.

My friend made this awesome app but his link got buried

It amazes me that your 9 year old could distinguish between the ideas and the presentation. :) It's a skill I'm stil trying to make-innate (can't find the word for that).

The website looks very good in spite of the distracting ads. Good luck! Did you use a design library like bootstrap?

> It's like when someone really likes reddit. Okay, it's not HN. They can tell a complicated story about how they like cats and populist rage politics, but it's a hard negative signal to get past.

I see the parallel but your signalling system is rather poor if it penalizes someone for liking reddit.

My demo wasn't tried either (I checked everyday), nor did I have more than 4 pageviews of my video, most of which are mine.

Good luck and don't take it hard.
