Re:Listening Practice for Niche Languages on Thursday October 01, 2026 @12:41PM (#49923980)
Heya, I just made this because finally AI audio is good enough to actually provide useful listening practice for languages where material is incredibly scarce. Just Cantonese for now, but hoping to expand the model to others too. Feedback welcome!
even if you do click on web and hit the first result, you still get a paywall.. maybe it's a US-only thing?

hi! i'm sorry that you feel that way. we're aware of the guidelines and thought about it. we decided to go with "Show HN:" for 2 reasons:

1- The API can be tried, the curl examples can be pasted and they work

2- looking at past examples (such as EasyPost), they seem to follow our pattern

for these reasons we didn't see a problem with using the "Show HN" tag :)

Hey thanks, on both counts :) Glad you like it! I'll make sure to bring up the signup position to our UX guy!
wops, bad UI i guess :P.. you need to be on angel.co.. so if your url is angel.co/startup just browse to dl.getpressk.it/startup.pdf or dl.getpressk.it/startup.zip and it will be auto generated!
Re:Pixie: A sweet Clojure-ish language on Monday March 09, 2015 @04:49AM (#9169901)
parentheses, at least in my exp, just fade away after a while.. there's core.typed which is static typing for clojure [0]

[0] https://github.com/clojure/core.typed

i agree it's not that hard, however even if it takes 5 minutes you're valuing your time at 0.99*12 = 11.88$ / h .. i'd rather just pay 99¢ .. i thought about this because lately i've been been coldmailing people a lot and it does take its time.. thanks for your feedback however, always appreciated :)
i tried to go the full MVP route and save as much as possible, do you feel it's untrustworthy? getmagicnow has @gmail after all.. thanks for your feedback!

"It took a few months of learning about network topologies, Redis, ØMQ, LXC, redundancy, distributed systems" <- what did you read exactly? books? blogs? thx D:
i don't see why you should force someone to use coffeescript though
