I just started using it, and to my surprise it only saves the sanitized html content, no scripts no css. I'm thinking of pairing this with archivebox. But hister is amazing. I love it. It's from the creator of searxng if I'm not mistaken which is another piece of great software.
I don't mean to bring low value demagougue, I can't help but ask myself, when Hitler rose to power, then being jailed and then rose to power even more, did the normal people who wanted nothing to do with his bs felt the same?
Thank you for giving me a glimpse. Reading half through your comment made me realize I never saw YouTube ads since the AI cancer, naturally, I wondered what it feels like.
The problem is, just like with Bitcoin, when you need to use it someone could steal it
Best of luck, hero. Reading the linked post in the beginning made me burst into tears. It's not fair to get all this shit coming your way in a lifetime, let alone one year. I hope you get only the best years from now on <3
Tangibly related - I use Linear for ticket management and I'm in love with this. After being defiled by Jira in my $dayjob, I couldn't believe I'll find a ticket management app I would love so much I literally advertise for free.
Well you wouldn't steal a car, why steal a book you rented from the feudal lord? It's his intellectual property.
I love emotion.sh with my heart. It used to be so hard to write css for me until I landed on the mental model of styled components
And sky rocketing (...) prices
Something about reading this blog post knowing every letter and screenshot done manually with no LLM gave me the chills
Not gp, but my take on this is op is being overly dramatic about stuff, and it activates the mirror neurons on the reader, I don't remember the name of this phenomenon
You're saying LLMs, but the future holds a full system using it as a tiny component we can't really imagine. Like transistors became unimportant or should I say trivial by themselves, the complex systems built on them are truly unimaginable. Except well if you're David Bowie:

I already forgot I did that too. Too bad you can't relive parts of your life '_'
Why that was a weird rabbit hole to go into. Thank you. I don't fall for this stuff though. It looks like a conspiracy theory like the world is flat, etc. That's enough internet for today.
This is heart breaking. I can't imagine going through all of this. I wish the best for his family now <3
To anyone not knowing this dude - I really recommend reading josh.mn - the posts are interesting and well written, personally I love the philosophy of it. To Josh - you're such an inspiring person, thank you
You are absolutely right to push on this
Reading this threw me back to 2014 - how was working for AOL back then?
Thank you so much for doing this, for years you make me feel like home, or the year 2010. Please don't ever stop!
I ended up adding -ai to every search in the browser level to turn this crap off. I couldn't find a way to disable it otherwise. I did it after it hallucinated the world cup games schedule which made my friend send wrong events to everyone after he "looked it up". Can't stop this from him, but at least this honest mistake won't happen to me.
Half assed fun fact: there was this painter I can't recall his name, the one that painted that girl with the head scurf. He might have used camera obscura and traced the picture. To me it feels like our times. There's a new tool that can be used along with the tools we have been using for decades to create something magical.
I've been thinking about this lately - is it like using 3rd party libs to achieve stuff faster? As much as I would lovr to hand craft the datetime logic in my app, I might as well use luxon and invest this time somewhere else. Only now with llms, you get virtually infinite 3rd party libs you can use, you create them on the fly. So if you have strong engineering values, I would say simply it boils down to "contracts over programs", you can still be in touch with the logic that glues it all together and treat some logic as a blackbox the same way we do with 3rd party libs?
While moving from spotify to youtube music a few years ago I bought a vinyl player to listen to full albums and fell for it. Then when I moved to curate and self host my collection with Plex and Plexamp I realized I'm not using the player anymore since I'm using Plexamp to listen to albums. Plexamp is not perfect and not open source unfortunately, but it's a really good non-enshitified product.
I had to migrate away from youtube music since the experience was infuriating me every time. I love making playlists on the go. In youtube music after adding 30 tracks to the play queue, tapping 1 track accidentally deletes the play queue and plays this track. This made me feel bad every time it happened.
I don't see how it is just accepted to lose progress in 2026 as if we're using win95. It feels like 80% of the sw I use provides a caveman UX, not leveraging the tech, leaking implementation details and being constrained by technical reasons. On the other hand, working on Prepbook[0], I realized how hard it is to create the perfect experience and how it's even harder to justify it financially.
I'm doing discovery by talking to people, I love it. Every time I listen to Monolink I recall my co worker that just said "check out monolink" when he heard I love Ott. I love that it makes the experience about connection to people as well.

Lead, follow or get out of the way
Dam everything about it sounds like a fairy tale. Way to go. That's so inspiring
Why don't you use it anymore?
Not GP but I feel like that's kinda their point - the fact that we still have this platform to collaborate in such an organic way is truly remarkable and must not be taken for granted.
Tangibly related, did you know that odd versions of node don't get LTS, I found it odd at first
It still haunts me, that dot they slipped in, in one of the commits, every time I merge a PR
> Amazon's search effort was shut down the week of October 29, without any measurable success. Major Cynthia Ryan later said it had been more of a hindrance than a help. She said that persons purporting to have seen the aircraft on the Mechanical Turk or have special knowledge clogged her email during critical days of the search, and for even months afterward. Many of the ostensible sightings proved to be images of CAP aircraft flying search grids, or simply mistaken artifacts of old images. Psychics flooded the search base in Minden with predictions of where the aviator could be found. One man from Canada was particularly persistent with daily calls to Ryan. Ryan noted that every message, letter, or phone call was taken seriously, which swamped the USAF specialists assigned the task of reviewing every one of them without regard to apparent plausibility. In retrospect, the crowdsource effort was "not ready for prime time", according to Ryan
