does this include bali? curious as that would impact the large international population.
the force that keeps humans bound to earth won’t be gravity, but demographics.
This is great! Well done

sorry, but didn't you read the article?

It begins with years of bullying at school, well before puberty.

Making sex work legal doesn't seem like a solution that addresses anything about the actual root cause of this issue.

thanks for this comment!

A great reminder that "the way things are" often are just accepted, never questioned, even ritually enforced; all while drifting further and further from better ways.

you forgot laundry.

Mom doesn't do my laundry anymore; doing laundry sucks; the world desperately needs an uber-for-laundry app.

sounds like useful software that could be someday be added natively into whatever the future OS of cars look(s) like

it would be users from a list of self-described 'early adopters', the type of people who love the internet and startups and are eager to try something new.

Ask HN: would you pay to guarantee your app's first 1k users?

For HN readers who have launched (or are about to launch) web apps: how did you get the first set of users to start using the service? Not everyone manages to get into techcrunch or win one of those startup competitions, which is often the way to 'seed' your first 1k users...Would you pay, on a success basis, for a service to deliver you your application's first x users? Say, $1 per new...

Re:Pre-branded domain names for startups on Thursday September 29, 2011 @03:41PM (#3053921)
This is quite a good idea, and the site itself is very nice and easy to navigate. Congratulations.

Seeing a domain name with an MVL (Minimum Viable Logo, haha) is really much better for imagining how strong it could be than just seeing it listed in text.

However, I found the selection too limited. So I think an interesting model for you would become a marketplace: 1- invite squatters with domains to sell to post their names on your site 2- invite designers to freely create logos to un-logoed domains 3- sell this wider selection to your audience, sharing the revenue with both squatters and designers.

Good luck - with more selection, I would easily find the service worthwhile at that price point.

I'm glad Marco wrote this piece. I've been a reader of BI but had no idea they employed these kinds of practices.

It's incredibly misleading, frankly unethical, to post content like that and pretend like they're publishing with the author's consent. How disappointing.

very good point, thanks.

yes! but (I think) it's only for agencies and that tends to be too expensive for many projects- here we're trying to also show individuals.

Thanks for taking the time to give feedback. Could you say what was behaving badly in Chrome so we can fix it?
