Mythic Beasts.

That is the actual name of the company, not a statement on the scarcity of decent non-US based domain providers.

Re:Can Intel finally beat ARM on performance per Watt? on Sunday August 09, 2026 @08:58AM (#49230983)
No, I disagree with you here - it isn't one user and certainly not an abuser. This is reputationally damaging, and doubling down is not helping. Arguably, the doubling down is the most damaging part.

An absence of open expression of disapproval is not the same as approval - people may just be avoiding dogpiling a member of our community.

I would add that people have a right to express disagreement or disappointment in a respectful manner in accordance with the rules of this moderated private space, and we have not had moderation/interventions suggesting otherwise. The criticisms are reasonable, to my mind at least, and probably ought to be taken as a massive hint that something is wrong. We are less than a day in, and it's not too late to fix things.

I am trying not to be too critical, as I have enjoyed previous content from this channel and I wish the poster well for the future.

The wheel in the photo is on the left, which is wrong in Japan. Domestic Japanese vehicles have the steering wheel on the right.

The car in the article has the steering wheel on the left, which is the wrong side for vehicles driving on the left-hand side of the road. Domestically-produced cars in both the UK and Japan have the steering wheel on the right.

Re:Tiny Core Linux: a 23 MB Linux distro with graphical desktop on Saturday December 06, 2025 @03:13PM (#46176265)
RISC OS has the concept of "OS units" which don't map directly onto pixels 1:1, and it was possible to fiddle with the ratio on the RiscPC from 1994 onwards, giving reasonably-scaled windows and icons in high-resolution modes such as 1080p.

It's hinted at in this tutorial, but you'd have to go through the Programmer's Reference Manual for the full details: https://www.stevefryatt.org.uk/risc-os/wimp-prog/window-theo...

RISC OS 3.5 (1994) was still 2MB in size, supplied on ROM.

That's only RISC OS 2 though. RISC OS 3 was 2MB, and even 3.7 didn't have everything in ROM as Acorn had introduced the !Boot directory for softloading a large amount of 'stuff' at boot time.
Is there a copy of this dataset available for download, or held at the Internet Archive?
