Re:Ask HN: What are you working on? (September 2026) on Monday September 14, 2026 @05:10PM (#49704070)
I've had it with my Chromecast and Apple TV, so I made https://github.com/onewolfmoon/abeam. It's open source, runs on Apple platforms, and does two things:

1. Play a YouTube video on a TV-connected Mac

2. Mirror a Mac or iPhone screen on a TV-connected Mac

The senders need macOS 26 or iOS 27. The TV-connected Mac can be running macOS 13 and up, so it's a nice use for an older laptop.

The apps are in app review now.

SuperGenPass[1] is a refinement of this idea. The code itself has been dormant for years[2], but the bookmarklet and mobile web versions still work great. In fact, adding the mobile web page to my iPhone home screen with Safari makes this a pretty straightforward way to make passwords accessible on mobile without worrying about syncing.

Re:Google App Engine is experiencing service outages on Tuesday December 08, 2015 @02:15PM (#10698643)
The error seems to be specifically around App Engine apps accessing Google APIs. I'd guess that this is a failure regarding fetching credentials, like what's described at https://developers.google.com/api-client-library/java/google....
Re:Google’s look, evolved on Tuesday September 01, 2015 @02:22PM (#10154577)
In hindsight, the Alphabet page has had the uppercase G from the new Google logo all along.

There's a lot in this comment, so I'd like to explicitly second the bug report in here.

In Chrome on Android, it's impossible to complete the goal amount, so it's impossible to continue.
