Re:Google Drive vs. Dropbox Terms of Service on Thursday April 26, 2012 @12:46PM (#3894786)
Let's say Mark Zuck. wants to use Google Drive, and upload all Facebook code on it. Using this TOS, it allows Google to go through the Facebook code, and use it to improve Google+.

As a programmer that uses Dropbox to backup all my code, I find this a little bit scary.

Re:Google Drive vs. Dropbox Terms of Service on Thursday April 26, 2012 @12:42PM (#3894760)
Doesn't allow me to access my files on my Android device. I sometimes like to access a PDF, or word document :(.
Ok thank you, But does it also give them the authorization to publish it to anyone else not logged in into my account ?
What about the "publish" part of it ? I mean they can tell me that the code I upload online will stay my intellectual property, and I understand if they need to read it, or modify it for OCR. But why publish ? I don't want my code published everywhere....

Ask HN: Tips and Tricks for beginners to promote your Android app?

Hey,I've recently created a few Android apps to learn Spanish and French. The app basically has a long list of words, it dictates you a word in english, and then says it in Spanish. When I wanted to learn Spanish, I found that this technique was really helpful to quickly learn vocabulary, and works while I'm commuting, which saves a lot of time. Now this app is pretty original, and is very...

I try "learning" spanish while commuting using this Android app: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.pervychine.spanish...

I love this way of learning

Re:Please Steal These webOS Features on Tuesday February 21, 2012 @12:03PM (#3617152)
I have a Touchpad myself, my wife has an iPad. I do prefer using WebOS than iOS. Love the multitask.

Only problem are the apps :(

Re:US could save $4.4B by dumping paper $1 bill for coin on Wednesday February 15, 2012 @06:58PM (#3596751)
I just use my debit card everywhere. And just get pissed off when I need coins for parkmeter and laundromat. Everywhere else -> slide!
Re:Building an App in 30 Days ... Is Stupid [2008] on Monday February 06, 2012 @06:50PM (#3559785)
I build 2 apps, both in less than 5 hours. Brings me about 50$ per month. Its barely worth the 10 hours buts it was fun.

The only thing not working on an iPhone iOS5 I've tried is the popups, I'll try fixing it thanks for the bug report.
Re:Show HN: Readbo - Making a better Google Reader on Saturday January 28, 2012 @05:25PM (#3523504)
Please check out the Facebook/Twitter functionality :).

The idea is not to have another RSS reader, but to have a News Reader, that would fetch all news coming from as most sources as possible. RSS are just part of it.

Show HN: Readbo - Making a better Google Reader

Hey everyone,I have spend some of my free time of the last year and a half working on a cool project: Readbo ( http://readbo.com ). I loved using Google Reader, but I always thought it wasn't being updated quickly enough, and wanted some new features. So I decided to create something that would be better than Google Reader and at the same time make Google Reader users happy.Readbo is an RSS...

This seems low for me for .NET. But then I live in the bay area, where everything is way too expensive.
Re:Ask HN: Developing for IOS on a VM or "Hackintosh" environment on Wednesday December 28, 2011 @05:16PM (#3401642)
PS: I also installed Mac OS X on a dell previously. It works very well if you have the right laptop, and have 30+ hours to spend trying to install it. Some laptops cannot run it.
Re:Ask HN: Developing for IOS on a VM or "Hackintosh" environment on Wednesday December 28, 2011 @05:15PM (#3401638)
I used a VM a few years ago, worked very well. And it was fast as I was doing it on a desktop that had "Virtualisation Technology". Felt like using a real mac. I remember I downloaded the VM via bittorrent. I think if you put Mac OS X on a VM its illegal in any cases.

Ask HN: Get money as an individual until a company is created

Hey,I have been working on a personal project for a long time. I would like to maybe create a startup with it in the future, but I currently don't have the money. I wanted to know, is it possible to create a website under my name, register my gmail account with an Individual account on Adsense, put advertising on my website and get paid under my name. And then maybe in 6 months, create a...
