A lot of directions you could take this. Free/Commercial. Thoughts?

Would be interesting to get more details on the sandbox.

Re:Ask HN: Is Godaddy Running a Scam? on Thursday February 06, 2025 @07:49PM (#42968089)
Did you make a bid in an auction or place the minimum offer? Anyone can list their domains for sale on godaddy with a minimum offer and optionally a buy it now price.

Are those backups geographically distributed?
adblockers block logo.clearbit.com
TTFB role in the overall time to a usable web page has dramatically decreased. Instead of being the primary driver in display of mostly static sites, the role is smaller now due to the increased compilation/execution time of client code.
Re:X.com is Twitter, but what are [a-z].com? on Friday December 08, 2023 @08:01PM (#38577127)
What cctlds?
What tld? It’s likely premium but they don’t get that info back until they call into the registry. Comparing prices between registrars is good practice as well.

Re:SQLite or PostgreSQL? It's Complicated on Tuesday June 28, 2022 @11:57AM (#31909365)
It seems a solid first step would be to use EXPLAIN to understand query planning/scanning issues.

Assuming 6.5M rows/day*1.5yr=~3.5B rows, how large is the dataset in both SQLite and pg? With indexes, is it fitting in RAM?

Linode 2GB plan is shared vcpu, so results will vary depending on who is sharing it with your service.

Re:Ask HN: How do I secure the domain for my business? on Sunday March 27, 2022 @08:29AM (#30819730)
This is unlikely. When a registrar goes bust, the registry can take over, assign a replacement registrar by buyout or alternate agreement. See “Registerfly” case as an example.
Re:Ask HN: Is Gmail spam out of control for everyone else too? on Saturday February 12, 2022 @04:52PM (#30316896)
Also seems that messages land in the inbox first, and then are sometimes filtered, making the gmail web ui jump around as whatever filtering mechanism catches up.

Re:Perl.com Taken over by Domain Squatters on Thursday January 28, 2021 @10:20AM (#25943094)
Likely phishing or some other account takeover tactic. Also not "squatters". This domain was stolen.
Re:Perl.com Taken over by Domain Squatters on Thursday January 28, 2021 @10:18AM (#25943063)
KS is just the destination registrar. Most of the domains were from NetSol from what I can tell.
Re:Perl.com Taken over by Domain Squatters on Thursday January 28, 2021 @10:10AM (#25942921)
Correct. Use a registrar with 2FA using authenticator or hardware key. No SMS 2FA. Rolling 5 year renewals will work for not letting the domain expire, but not for this scenario.

Helping a friend to get back into their accidentally deleted g suite account. Standard gmail.com account was merged into the G Suite account.Message when attempting to recover that account is to contact the domain admin. But as far as she knows, this was the only account (and should have been the admin). Since she can't get into the account, there's no way to contact g suite support as far as...
