ah yes

Loved reading his blog over the years. Another good resource in this area is the zero to asic course:

Hopefully this instigates a change in attitude.. the negative impact of brexit and consistent cultural and political deference to a bunch of right accented, corrupt, harry potter NPCs is so clear to everyone apart from the people that matter (e.g. the electorate). Huge potential, wasted!
Re:Guess What? Analog Computing May Be Coming Back on Tuesday January 31, 2023 @10:25AM (#34596235)
Analog computers can perform matmul operations without data movement using physical properties such as conductance changes in a very small volume. If noise and random variation can be modelled successfully then in certain cases they are obviously going to be better (e.g. energy use in edge applications). The discussion is not specific enough to applications to be useful. AI data centres are not going to be using this stuff anytime soon for example. On the other hand, you do not want an NVIDIA GPU inserted into your body.
Interesting that Northern Ireland has the second highest economic growth after London. N.I. has no functioning government and can still trade with the EU via the protocol. With the exception of London, N.I. is an excellent A/B test for brexit, the effect of overproduction of nepo politicians, etc.

This is an absolute dud!

This is yet another example of the classic human story: arrogance before the fall. Writing code is no longer interesting. What you do with it is.
Not that definitive:

"Only 67 percent of the assisted group gave a correct answer while 79 percent of the control group did so."

They look atrociously bad, if some future version of this produces high definition video then i'll be delighted. This seems like a clever but not useful shortcut to 3D. For now this goes in the could but couldn't pile.
These videos are not high definition. Stop gaslighting.

It's just all very midi sounding..was my immediate reaction

You have volatile memory, very workable and useable imo lol
Re:How Transistors Work [video] on Friday September 09, 2022 @03:57PM (#32784119)
I have always found it really useful to go back to the first few examples of a device when learning about its function (e.g. https://www.extremetech.com/extreme/175004-the-genesis-of-th...).

Love seeing it in large scale as it becomes just another simple device like a resistor or potentiometer.
