Then the device is not for you. I have this and it’s amazing for me. Being able to pocket this and whip it out during moments I would’ve doom scrolled has been great for my reading.
Canadians have been able to transfer money via email for ages, only Americans think their system is unique, it is. Uniquely inefficient and costly.
What are some ways users can insulate themselves from something like this?
lol this is a joke right? Ask any Canadian if they think America is driving a hard bargain or pushing away its closest ally.
Not the worst policy from this admin tbh.

I can’t understand how kindles are popular when there’s a plethora of ebook readers without the locked down DRM.
Really cool project, looking forward to using it in Obsidian.
> He successfully sailed one of the greatest and most perilous ocean journeys ever in recorded history, and rescued every member of his 28-man crew from certain death
It’s incredible feat of human survival. For all 28 men to survive the ordeal, is nothing short of fantastic. For months they were camped on floating sea ice, and then to tack on a 800 mile journey through open, stormy sea in a battered whaling boat, and finally a trek through the interior of a mountainous island to reach a whaling port and rescue, is incredible to say the least. I’d highly encourage people to read his own memoir of it.
If android and the play store are gonna be locked down, you might as well get an iPhone.
Few scenarios, could be that they are the oldest and the rest of their siblings aren’t ready to have a family.

I’m in the process of organizing how I keep a log of my work and I wanted to understand how others are tracking what they do and the lessons they’ve learnt.

Flagged for being biased and not presenting the whole picture.
FWIW I visited SF back in 2021. I got a bunch of comments saying to never leave anything valuable in your car, but other than that it was a great trip. Stores were stocked and people were friendly.
This can’t be serious comment
So no concrete action she did/did not do at her level. Gotcha.
| Elon reported that Twitter hit a new all time high of "user seconds" last week
I’m not inclined to take Elon’s words at face value, he has an incentive to pump any statistic that makes it seem Twitter is growing.
For Google maps if you have an iphone then i recommend Apple Maps. The traffic data isnt great and their map data could use work and no offline maps (yet!), but i find their directions easy to follow and the UX miles ahead. Lane changes are clearly communicated ahead of time, and the directions are something I’d tell another human, i.e fewer turns than the “optimal” path.

This is what the article says for [0]
“Police say the man targeted people on social media and promoted hatred against them after an attack in London, Ont., in June, where four members of a family were killed.”
Does that sound like criticism to you? It reads like harassment to me.
This thread is already if drawing comments in defence of those “conspiracy” theories. So yes I’ve also noticed the same pattern.
The whole point of crypto was to be decentralized. For one company to go down and cause the industry to implode means the industry is on the wrong path and needs to be reset.
Have you bought an amd gpu in the last decade? They don’t beat nvidias top cards but they perform well. Xbox/PS4 use amd hardware and so does the steam deck. I have no idea why this comment was even made?? Have you compared their open source driver to nvidias? Night and day difference.
I mean wealth simple exists, so does TD. Plenty of finance companies allow WFH.
Throughout this thread it sounds like you’re bemoaning the fact that there are no ‘precision bombs’ for the Russian economy. So you’d rather do nothing? We’ve seen what appeasement to dictators achieve.
Yes you are given the tools but given a novel problem from leetcode, how likely are you to solve it within the pressures and time constraints of an interview environment? And how is the problem solving process indicative of engineering competency? It misses on some key points, for example integrating DB queries, refactoring, clean code, good git commit messages. And I’d argue the biggest miss is evaluating how well you can read other peoples code.
Comments like this makes wish HN had a downvote button
Yes, fortunately my company uses a toy project that needs some functionality implemented to gauge developer skills. I find that this approach (given a reasonable amount work to implement) is a better approach to find devs who are a fit for the role.
