I've been building a site to help me keep track of the stocks I follow.

* Automatically sets alerts when I favorite a stock

* Discuss and analyze stocks with AI

* Generate AI research reports

Would love feedback from other investors/builders:

Re:Ask HN: What if you kept employee count low? on Thursday August 13, 2015 @12:44AM (#10052294)
Quip has ~16 elite employees (Co-founder is ex-CTO of Facebook) (October 2014) (http://www.quora.com/How-many-engineers-work-at-Quip) and a great product used by many.
Creating a chrome extension that gives easy access to a user's playlists.

Here's the progress so far http://imgur.com/rNHzfj4

Motivation: I pretty much use Youtube as my music player. Great selection and I like watching the videos every now and then. The problem is that it doesn't really have the UI of a music player e.g. easy access to all of my 200+ playlists.

Will definitely add filtering. Thx!

I've been adding the entries manually so it'd be way too much work for me to add them all.

Name's Waley. Fourth year CS student at the University of Waterloo who is looking for a Fall 2014 software engineering internship.

I'll be interning at MongoDB in the summer. Last summer, I interned at Twilio where I wrote new features for and rebuilt Twilio's phone number search query tool. Also worked on the bulk porting feature.

I've also won two hackathon awards. One for building CodeTrial--an app that drastically reduces the time to conduct a technical phone screen by automating the technical phone screen. You can try it out here: http://CodeTrial.herokuapp.com/

If you're interested, check out my resume for more information and feel free to connect!

See my profile.
Funny Snippet:

Mr. Jobs was notorious for throwing his weight around however he could. One person on the iPhone design team was also named Steve, which caused some confusion in meetings. Mr. Jobs sought to change this.

“At some point Steve Jobs got really frustrated with this and said ‘Guess what, you’re Margaret from now on,’” Mr. Tolmasky said. From there on, members of the team would always address the designer Steve as Margaret.

Some indicators I've witnessed as a student: They started programming at an early age because they thought it was fun/interesting rather than thinking about a getting a job or making money. Have impressive side projects. Have competed and done well in algorithm competitions. Have full time software development experiences before starting university. High grades at an elite highschool. IQ above the rest. Educated and/or supportive parents or teachers.

In execution, there's benefits of being over confident (google it) e.g. taking it upon yourself to be the leader of a group, if you'r not confident about your course of action, you may lose the confidence of your followers.
Really depressing. Wasn't expecting it to be so after watching episode 1.
Native mobile development, iOS most likely.
I don't this counts as responsive design but I`ve used responsive frameworks e.g. Twitter`s bootstrap.

I think I`d learn iOS first though since the general consensus seems to be Native > Web.

Ask HN: As a web developer, should I learn mobile development?

I'm a student with a year of web development experience (Rails/PHP).I've been thinking about learning mobile development in order to jump on the mobile bandwagon. Maybe even taking 4 months off school, take a mobile development bootcamp and pursue other interests as well.Do you think it would be worth it? Or should I not bother and simply specialize in web jobs?Would love to hear your...

+1.

50 Cent is my #1 role model since he has achieved success despite adversity (Both of his parents were dead by the time he was 8 & he grew up in a rough neighborhood).
