Am I surprised that a product got rushed out with major issues? Of course not, they do it every day.

I say this because I'm learning Octave mainly to get familiar with the Matlab-ish world (kinds of coding used in real world academia) and I wonder what I'm missing.
Think of it like any startup not checking if there are patents they infringe. If you think there's nothing wrong with the patent system, then you should be "pissed" about that too. But sane people tend to not be.
Is it because it isn't well known? Or is there some obvious deficiency that everyone but me knows about?
Also it's particularly difficult to get Solarized setup in a terminal using 256 colors rather than manually resetting the 16 colors of your terminal to custom values.
If you have a sane terminal, vim works fine with 256 color support. A lot of people on OSX use iTerm 2 which I hear has fine 256 color support. I just use gnome-terminal on Linux that's had support forever and dropped solarized since the maintainer is not interested in making any setup work besides gVim/MacVim it seems.

Xbox 2 * 360
...etc
I was about to tack on "questions on the other hand..." to my comment but was already in bed when I thought of it.
Why are you intentionally ignoring it?
It's irresponsible of anyone paid to know this kind of thing to not be aware of how a project handles version numbers.
Linus is the kind of guy that would go to 2.8 just "because it's time" in his mind rather than some big feature jump. Whether or not a person agrees, it would be good for people to at least inform themselves.
As in, sure you can connect the AIM and MSN chat networks, but you yourself have to run a server to connect the two.
Currently one also has to have migration functionality written by themselves. Instead, amazon could provide it, just like AIM could provide an MSN gateway themselves.

Edit: Warning. Actually seems to cut off some of the slides.
I don't know ruby but if I did I'd change the sha256 stuff to GPG. Could support searching for local GPG keys with URL and/or the username out of the github URL. Asks which to use if multiple matches are found, should remember the choice. If there isn't a local key already, support querying specific known keyservers. mit's and ubuntu's come to mind.
Might poke around with this in bash in a week or two.
