Re:React-in-HTML from a 21kb Bundle on Saturday January 18, 2025 @08:55AM (#42748328)
This was my weekend project. Allows putting tiny react things in your HTML where ever you want. I'm going to use this because I like it more than react as it remains simple and I predominantly use HTML+JS-only now, but sometimes want a little react.

The LLMs pick it up very easily!

Here's a list of tools that use the same URL structure as github enabling you to use it by just changing your url.

To navigate to your desired page more easily, go from any 'github.com/_' url to 'forgithub.com/_' and you'll get *quick links*! You can star your favorites, or after you remember them you can visit them directly.

Traditional API integration workflows are cumbersome, requiring separate SDKs that bloat your project with hundreds of unnecessary files. I love the deno URL import functionality and decided to make this: https://oapis.org

As long as there's a openapi.json available at the domain, you can import a type safe fetch-function as follows:

```typescript // Save this as test.ts and run it using `deno run --allow-net --allow-import test.ts`
// Import the chat completion function directly import createChatCompletion from "https://oapis.org/ts/chatcompletions.com/createChatCompletio...
// Use it without any SDK installation const completion = await createChatCompletion({ headers: { "X-LLM-API-Key": "YOUR_SECRET", "X-LLM-Base-Path": "https://api.deepseek.com/v1", }, body: { messages: [ { role: "system", content: "You are a helpful assistant." }, { role: "user", content: "Hello!" }, ], model: "deepseek-chat", }, });
if (completion.body) { console.log(completion.body.choices[0].message.content); //Hello! How can I assist you today? } else { console.log("ERROR", completion.status); } // This works like a charm! ```
Hope you like it. Feedback appreciated!
Re:Today I learned that bash has hashmaps (2024) on Saturday January 11, 2025 @05:26AM (#42664829)
bashmaps?
I'd love that, but most of all I'd prefer to host things on my own servers.
Also I'd buy a pendant if I can send it to my own S3!!!!
Open source makes it possible to host S3 yourself as well as any other data processing later down the line. doesn't need to be the same machine!
Yesterday I made https://github.com/janwilmake/efficient-recorder and you liked it as it hit the front-page of HN.
I couldn't sleep tonight and decided to whip this up...
I know right :') Not very efficient yet.
I've also explored Swift AVFoundation to drop frames and colours at the moment of recording, but won't be implementing it at this time.
This was just a POC, and couldn't hack it in a day.
Interesting ideas! Seems worth exploring for sure.
Haha, yes, the README was generated and no, it was not a conscious choice. However I'm happy with the result.
It is indeed, but we can use our privately hosted S3 compatible server: https://github.com/minio/minio
I'm happy to think about e2e encryption.
It's not quite there yet, this is just a POC and there's lots to win in efficiency.
I think it should be done in Swift tbh to get battery impact under 10%
I havent tried yet, but I think we can use https://github.com/minio/minio for this.
Re:Nokia 5110 – Back from the Dead on Wednesday December 18, 2024 @03:38PM (#42454870)
Yes. I love the simplicity of the screen and ui, and don't want these newer ones. the problem with the older ones is they don't work anymore as 2G or 3G is disabled nowadays for many providers in the EU.
I would pay for a Nokia 5110 that is exactly like then except for the 4g call/sms part
I'd love an API for this.
I don't think it's much difference, but I've read that Markdown codeblocks (or YAML, or XML) is better for code than JSON, for example: https://aider.chat/2024/08/14/code-in-json.html
I think it makes sense.
YAML is shorter and easier to read, Markdown codeblocks have no added syntax between the lines compared to normal code.
But JSON vs JSONL I can't come up with any big advantages for the LLM, it's mostly the same.
You can use JSON using the accept parameter of the API. The url structure remains the same. It also supports YAML and I found that's easiest to read for LLMs.
Previous example but in JSON:
https://uithub.com/upstash/docs/tree/main/qstash?accept=appl...
Is there any reason to prefer JSONL besides it being more efficient to edit? I'm happy to add it to my backlog if you think it has any advantages for LLMs
for that you can use https://uithub.com (g -> u)
- for browsers it shows html - for curl is gets raw text
Hi, great tool!
I've made https://uithub.com 2 months ago. Its speciality is the fact that seeing a repo's raw extract is a matter of changing 'g' to 'u'. It also works for subdirectories, so if you just want the docs of Upstash QStash, for example, just go to https://uithub.com/upstash/docs/tree/main/qstash
Great to see this keeps being worthwhile!
Show HN: Uithub – Easily Ask Your LLM Coding Questions
https://uithub.com
I've created uithub, a tool that allows developers to easily get LLM context for their coding questions and perform AI repo analysis at scale. Here's what it does:- Get Context: Simply change the 'g' in github.com to 'u' to access AI-powered insights on any GitHub repo. - Flexible Querying: Fetch entire repos, specific branches/subfolders, or filter by file type and size. - API for Developers:...
Most of them are useless play apis, but it's a fun dataset maybe. Also I guess most don't use the OpenAPI standard.
I've built anthropic.actionschema.com today give it a try!
Hi, this little client-side app allows you to retrieve a feed where it filters new or top stories based on your preferences in natural language.
It's using gpt-4o-mini and the Hackernews API.
Re: on Thursday July 04, 2024 @02:54AM (#40872911)
Hey everyone, for quite some time I've had a strong belief that OpenAPI should become a standard for agentic AI. I believe it can open up AI innovation to new heights.
It still isn't adopted as much as it could've. But I'm working hard to make it reality. Not there yet, but happy to share my works so far.
