Which library do you use to get signals?
Re:The AI cost of JavaScript frameworks on Monday November 02, 2026 @01:53PM (#50341702)
Yes, mithril is beautiful. I believe people consider it complete mostly, that's why there have not been updates. I have been doing the same and addi g a bunch of features on top. Will check yours. Let's make super-mithril !

Flutter good, React Native bad. (mobile)

Related to cultural moral values: 'do the-right-thing even if it doesn't benefit you'.

This brings us closer to max payoff of prisoner-dilemma.

In this case it's 'do the job right, even if that's not profit-maximizing'.

But moral values have been lost.

Re:Binance-hacker-1029 – $5.6B stolen from Binance on Friday October 30, 2026 @10:19AM (#50304292)
Actually this is an obsession with profit, which makes more sense. Faster is cheaper and get paid sooner. And consumers often pick price over quality. So this is a civilization dynamics problem.
In a afternoon, I can parse the equations. But intuitively understanding why it works? I am unable to understand, after years of trying.
I really like your work.

Re:Things to know if you get cancer in 2026 on Thursday October 15, 2026 @12:19PM (#50105937)
It seems getting cancer is a lot of work. If I ever get it, I would like to have a gamified app that tells me what I have to do.

-'call this number of hospital x to schedule an appointment with Dr y'. (check. Appointment in 5 weeks. Automatically reschedules the task every day to ask if there is cancelation to make it sooner).

- 'you will get your 1st opinion today. In the appointment, get your test results so we can get a 2nd opinion later.'

The app would have built in ai who knows and references 'the standard of care', and knows where to schedule each treatment anywhere in the world.

Personal family story about non-health side-effects of cancer:

40 years ago, Dad got colon cancer. He was a Jehovah Witness, they prohibit blood transfusions. He looked hard for a doctor who was willing to do surgery without blood, and found one. Surgery was successful, he was completely cured. Years later, the official medical recommendation for when to do blood transfusions dropped to use blood in less cases, which shows better outcomes. This was interpreted in his mind as "JWs saved my life, I owe my life to this cult", so he became a radical JW, which destroyed our family.

Ask HN: Internal AI Language

LLMs have an internal language that they translate English into before predicting the next token. Like 'king' is translated into a word of an internal language that corresponds to vector [monarch, man], which allows king-man+woman=queen. Spanish is similar for the case 'queen'=reina, -ina suffix means female, but becomes irregular for king=rey. We have tried to create regular, consistent...

I tried it 10 years ago and it was very buggy, crashing and freezing. The main option was Openshot, which was also in development and buggy (something happened then, that Openshot almost stopped development). There was no good foss option, so I settled for Sony Vegas from pirate bay.

Hey, what about this idea? redefine interval representation, such that [a, b] means the same if a<b; but if b<a, it means [-∞, b]U[a, +∞]. Then your example would become 1/[-1,2]=[0.5,-1]

What's the main value proposition of roc? I found interesting tags (like symbols in mathematica) and tags with payloads (like python namedtuple or dataclasses). I haven't seen this elsewhere. Otherwise seems quite typical (Pattern matching is quite common, for example).

Example programs that you couldn't easily express in other languages?
