I don't quite follow you here unfortunately. How exactly is the governor responsible for the fires?

i agree with the post. but i just noticed on my desktop chrome browser that medium also applies the same behavior on here. i believe this is not necessary, as on a desktop i have plenty of reading space and this way im actually experiencing a less usable version of a website....
Correct. it depends on the type of green card. Some other countries might have a wait list, but nothing as considerable as the waitlists for chinese and indian citizens.
First of all, I'd like to state that I am in the same position as you are, but I think you got some facts wrong.

1. Green Card The green card wait list is actually really only for citizens of China and India. I believe every other country has 0 wait time. I could be wrong with the statement "every", but it definitely is the case for the majority of countries. There is an allotted amount of green cards for each country. As long as this is not surpassed for your country, you should be good.

Let's talk about the 401k. It totally depends on how much matching you get from your employer. Does your employer match your contributions 1 to 1 or with a lesser ratio? If it is a lesser ratio, I would do the math. Assuming you are in the State of California, there is a penalty of roughly 50% for early withdrawal of the funds. So you will definitely get at least your own money back, in case you do go back to your original country. But if you do end up making it here for a until after a certain age, it might be worth considering.

Hope this kind of helps.

I love how tesla basically discloses who the plaintiff is, by referring to an old case of his. Hello there Robert Montgomery!
Re:Show HN: Abacus – Killing The Expense Report on Tuesday February 11, 2014 @01:24PM (#7219254)
How is this different from expensify? Expensify uses the slogan "Expense reports that don't suck." You are essentially trying to do the same thing here. What are your main differentiators and what exactly are you doing better than these other solutions out there?
Re:Hetzner Hostage on Wednesday February 05, 2014 @02:26PM (#7186145)
Since this seems to be a problem for growing startups. Does anyone have any information on what other companies cater to the european market and will not hold you hostage if you get hit with a ddos attack? I'm looking specifically for servers in Germany, if anyone has any clue.
Re:ASK PG: Why HN killed a reasonable complain about YC company on Tuesday February 04, 2014 @11:35AM (#7178474)
I'm sure Dr. Bedi got his point across though. I wouldn't be surprised if everyone at the mentioned company is dealing with this s*storm right about now.

He asked the startup community about advice in how to proceed with a startup. He showed much evidence of others feeling similar grievance. It attracted lots of attention in a short amount of time. That should worry someone though:(
Re:Square thinks I don’t exist on Tuesday January 28, 2014 @02:45AM (#7135918)
I want to quickly chime in as well. I don't want to defend Square, but they are simply using a service and are relying on its information. It sucks that your account didn't get approved, but I do not agree with your final statement: "Design is how it works, not how it looks.". Square uses a third party service, and I actually know which one it is. They regularly update their information, yet there are still issues with identities, as it is not a perfect "science". Square definitely did the best to their ability, but due to the fact that they rely on someone else, it won't be perfect. I have worked with the provider in question myself, and I know of the pitfalls. I believe Square definitely solved the issue as best as they could considering the limitations.
