Show HN: I've mapped 126k listings from 4500 direct booking sites

https://staythere.ai

I manage short term rentals and I made one big direct booking site for any host that uses a PMS and all I need is a URL. No accounts, no fees, no commissions.I’m tired of Airbnb, VRBO, and Booking charging such high fees and commissions so I made a free search platform. I’m also building a crawler to automate the discovery of new listings to hopefully have millions soon.

Thanks I’ll add support for those!

I agree and I’m working on adding the hosts contact and socials to that sticky header to contact them.

I have spoken to a few hundred PMs and none have cared that I listed them and actually loved the idea of getting more direct bookings with no commission or fees.

Zillow doesn’t charge to list units annd get rented and also aggregated MLSs around the country into a unified site without individual owners or PM knowledge.

More like Google Flights but for STR booking sites.

I built a search engine that aggregates the public direct booking websites provided by property management systems (PMSs), allowing travelers to discover and book directly with hosts. There are no booking fees or commissions.

StayThere is only the search layer. I am not the merchant of record. When a guest chooses a property, they complete their booking on the host’s existing checkout page provided by their PMS.

Hosts can add their listings by simply pasting the URL of their Guesty, Hospitable, Hostaway, Hostfully, Lodgify, or OwnerRez direct booking website. Within seconds, their listings become searchable on StayThere with live pricing and availability.

That's a fair concern. StayThere only indexes listings from established PMSs like Guesty, Hospitable, Lodgify, and Hostaway. In many cases, those listings were originally imported from Airbnb or other OTAs when the host joined their PMS, which then created their direct booking website and distributed those listings across additional channels.

StayThere doesn't change the regulatory status of a property. Hosts are still responsible for complying with the local laws and regulations wherever they operate, just as they are when accepting bookings anywhere.

So unlike an open marketplace where anyone can create a listing, these properties typically already have an operating history. Longer term, I want to surface additional trust signals like open-format Q&A, years hosting, reputation metrics, and more reviews where available, so guests can better judge whether a host is a safe bet. Some PMSs also aggregate OTA reviews onto their direct booking sites, allowing that reputation to carry over.

Show HN: I'm trying to map all vacation rentals you can book direct

https://staythere.ai/

Hi HN,StayThere.ai started because I was trying to get more repeat guests to book directly instead of through Airbnb. About two years ago I took over managing seven short term rentals, which has since grown to 33. I started texting guests a link to our direct booking website after checkout and added QR code table toppers in each unit so guests could easily book direct the next time they visited...

Depending on the security of the sites you link to you might be able to show them locally in an iframe so users are only redirected if absolutely necessary and you can give an easy way back to search results/landing page
