Seems to me that you need some time, not to ask HN, but to ask yourself. Take a break for a few weeks. Go to a silent meditation retreat? Wake up to the fact that your financial compensation may be high, but that you're currently feeling very poor because of the lack of authenticity in your life. Follow that authenticity, no matter where it's calling you, and you'll be wealthy.

This is a superficial perspective. Indigenous people have been using entheogenic plants for centuries, and understand that these are living entities, spirits here to help humanity - meant to be used in a ceremonial setting, not "drugs" and definitely not "placebo."

Obviously. Indigenous people who have been working with plant medicines for thousands of years (medicine people) understand all of reality to be a dream, and the physical dreaming state to be nothing less but the travel of one's spirit away from one's body, which results in the expansion of one's awareness.
Good to see progress in connecting what has been understood forever through experience with physical analysis, one must however not be fooled into thinking that one will understand anything about plant medicines by analyzing their physical effects -- what happens here starts on a much deeper level.
