Re:Ask HN: Who is using MCP in production? on Friday September 04, 2026 @10:49AM (#49565494)
My company uses MCP in production to connect different AI products together that were developed by different teams. It makes the connections very easy, where a REST interface often has quirks and features that you have to understand.
Re:MacBook Neo Is So Popular That Apple Doubled Production on Wednesday June 03, 2026 @04:28PM (#48389526)
Luxury watches are often five figures or more.. in that context $1250 is a deal.
Re:Google, I Dump Your Ass on Tuesday May 26, 2026 @02:06PM (#48283426)
Any alternatives you'd recommend outside of the USA?
Re:Dropping Cloudflare for Bunny.net on Tuesday April 07, 2026 @11:28AM (#47676873)
No, as the request headers would be different for things like time.
Re:He suddenly couldn't speak in space on Saturday March 28, 2026 @08:20PM (#47559277)
Yes there is air inside the space station, no you're not going to have a random vacuum in one person's body.
Yes that's what they do.
Re:The most banned books in U.S. schools on Thursday December 18, 2025 @08:40PM (#46321342)
Because the modern system is that the parenting has been offloaded onto the school. The reason we have sex-ed is because we can't trust parents to do that.

The notion that the school board would simply ask a parent, then deal with the parents from kid A complaining that they read a book checked out by kid B is out there.

We run our schools to a lowest common denominator system.

Re:Is Germany on the brink of banning ad blockers? on Friday August 15, 2025 @10:37AM (#44912993)
screen readers / text based browsers / etc.
Re:133-year old Kodak says it might have to cease operations on Thursday August 14, 2025 @10:00AM (#44900473)
I'm presuming they were trying to say "Doomed from the start of the digital revolution"
Goofy question, I also got this email and am trying to go through the process. However no emailed ever make it to my inbox.

Is Blackblaze getting flooded with these requests? I'm also a bit confused at the decision here. :)

Re:Obscura VPN – Privacy that's more than a promise on Thursday February 20, 2025 @02:24PM (#43118977)
Mixnet would be a solution. Like what you described, have inbound packets held for some period of time and released as a group so that you cannot as easily correlate the inbound and outbound traffic.

The downside is that it gets much slower, and feels 'bad' as an end user. Each packet takes longer.

Re:Obscura VPN – Privacy that's more than a promise on Thursday February 20, 2025 @02:20PM (#43118913)
That whole comment is "With a way harder method than going to the ATM".

I understand that it's possible to get crypto through obscure methods. However if you're selling a privacy focused solution, ideally you shouldn't have to spend 3-4 weeks to acquire the funds to purchase it.

Re:Obscura VPN – Privacy that's more than a promise on Thursday February 20, 2025 @11:48AM (#43116976)
Why do all of these new VPN solutions want some form of Crypto payment that has to go through KYC regulations to acquire... doesn't that somewhat defeat the purpose?

Mullvad with cash seems like a super ideal way to go. Why can't I just mail you $20 and call it a day?

Re:1 in 5 Online Job Postings Are Either Fake or Never Filled on Tuesday January 14, 2025 @01:06PM (#42701237)
You mean Aha! isn't hiring 100 people in 100 locations world wide at all times?
Whomever has this fake certificate can run a server and say it's google.com and windows will say "yep you are" with the little green lock.
How is this any different than the other 1,000 "encrypted chat" solutions?
Re:Make Your Electronics Tamper-Evident on Sunday August 04, 2024 @08:56PM (#41157367)
Ideally for transit you vaccum seal it. Then they can't 100% predict how the beans will shift undergoing the compression.
It is true, games were present but it wasn't in the objectives of the hardware manufacturers to have "better game support" at this time.
Re: on Thursday May 30, 2024 @03:14PM (#40527557)
Extreme claims require extreme evidence. The claim they have is that they were targeted directly, and signals encryption was broken (or signal elected to steal the data?)

I've never heard of these people or their "legacy chat application" that would be worthy of compromising signal. And they are trying to sell their chat application bundled on a VPN as "airgapped" from the internet.

Kinda feeling BS on this one.

So you want their free hosting, but don't want to pay for it either directly, or indirectly?
Why not just stop using YouTube?
Re:Personal VPN Services are Snake-Oil on Sunday April 14, 2024 @04:35PM (#40034251)
ECH is not starting soon. CloudFlare haven't rolled it out to everyone and good luck finding a constant setup for it.

There are some experimental servers for it, but basically not supported anywhere.

Re:Ask HN: Do you use AI at work? on Tuesday April 02, 2024 @06:22AM (#39904097)
It can be useful to solve the "blank page problem" i.e. to get an initial set of data to challenge. However it has zero customer data, or internal code to help with anything like that.
Re:WebTunnel on Tuesday March 12, 2024 @08:50PM (#39686769)
Doubt it would happen but I'd love to see CloudFlare support this for all their domains. Blocking them is blocking 1/3rd of the internet.
No it's not. No-one has claimed it is. The parent of this whole thread is "If ever I'm the subject of a lawsuit that'd require me to turn in my computer, I'd scrub it to oblivion at the slightest intimation of what's happening."

'So if I was being sued, I'd destroy evidence.' is a great way for the court to give you the hardest of times, and potentially jail time.

No, username is only for discovery. So while reuse is allowed. Your contacts would stay connected with you.
