"Wade" Ave... as in Wade Hampton III?
Regarding [2], the sensationalized, alarmist way the media reported this was not remotely accurate, nor would the conspiracy theory angle on this story make any practical sense.

You don’t have to be a neuroscientist to see that there are huge problems with his story. You simply have view this story objectively have a healthy dose of skepticism without quickly deferring to the authority figure. There are simple questions which are never addressed here. What experiment was being done during each PET scan? If the psychopaths and Dr. Fallon were both completing a morality task and they both had low activity in certain regions, THEN that would be something more tangible. This is simply showing a brain picture and not asking questions. We know that people are much more likely to believe something if there is a brain picture associated with it and this is further proof.

It's cool because: we analyze paths taken in binaries to find bugs.

I like to imagine a world where automated analysis supplements testing by providing a middle ground of "moderate gain + no programmer effort" (if you're interested, http://bugchecker.net)

http://bugchecker.net is a site that does automated testing (dynamic analysis). We use STP.
* It doesn't use uclibc. The way it works is the guest program is a snapshot of the target program process after it has been linked with its shared libraries. Usually this means it's linked with glibc (but not necessarily -- cyanogenmod programs are linked with bionic).

* Shared libraries: yes, and it doesn't need a header. Not supported yet in the interface. It does need access to the function symbols though.

Very appreciated, fixing...
Done.
Thanks! If you have any advice, we are all ears.
Thanks for reporting this, looking into it. The Windows support is fairly unstable right now. About page updated.

What was the test, out of curiosity? What tests are the most commonly given?

Incentives.

If she wants that label (which has become really popular over the past few years), she can shop around until she finds a psychologist willing to give her the diagnosis she wants. Of course she pays them for their time. (Not to mention, antisocial behavior + narcicissm = not a stretch.)

It's not like her publisher or news organizations are going to show any skepticism.

It's important to keep in mind that our national histories color what these words mean to us and what we think the implications are.

Another example of this is the massive paranoia in Germany about Streetview before it came out in that country. That one seems to have been unwarranted.

Could you talk/link about what that means, exactly? In what ways, which areas? How do you compare these things? Thanks!

"The Psychopath Test" doesn't represent psychology.

Hare's commentary on the book is very enlightening: http://www.psychopathysociety.org/images/hare%20commentary%2...

"This depiction of events ... and my reported reactions to them ... are complete fabrications. The same can be said of many of his other reports of our conversations. I can’t help but wonder if some of Ronson’s accounts of his experiences with others in his book are equally fictionalized."

was curious about this too:

21.5 million age 20-24

vs

58.9 million age 50-64

80.4 million age 50-74

(from https://www.census.gov/population/age/data/2011comp.html)

Counterpoint: Isn't company-wide email randomization similarly paranoid or self-defeating? If so, at least he's in good company (Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk have used this tactic).

"The migration of Byzantine scholars and other émigrés from southern Italy and Byzantium during the decline of the Byzantine Empire (1203–1453) and mainly after the fall of Constantinople in 1453 until the 16th century, is considered by some scholars as key to the revival of Greek and Roman studies and subsequently in the development of the Renaissance humanism and science."

What would happen if HN were split into sub-communities like reddit?

Also saying reddit doesn't have quality discussion is a bit unfair to the minority of subreddits that do.
