Re:Mystery of 60-Second Fluctuations in Power Grids Solved on Monday November 02, 2026 @05:04AM (#50334923)
temperature is also a problem
Re:Postgres 19 is late, and it's AI's fault on Monday November 02, 2026 @04:47AM (#50334824)
on the other hand you are not exposed to supply chain attacks
most landlines in continental Europe are already VoIP
they go just for day trips there that's the problem
dozens of busses every day, but Hallstatt is very small
there were already post carriages but they were not inner city
about ferrys. Douglas Adams let one of his protagonists in Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency postulate that the book of revelations was the product of despair waiting for a ferry
IIRC it was torches there seem to be several archaeological finds
because of the overtourism problem I would advise against a visit
Planck admitted it himself that it was a hack he just postulated that there had to be quants. It was Einstein when he explained 1905 the photoelectric effect that quanta were accepted as "real"
it was never proven in a court of law, nor have there been accusations of any kind in this regard in his lifetime. it seems that Moore couldn't read Schrödinger's shorthand and he had to rely on other sources [0] [0]https://science.orf.at/stories/3237287/
Didn't you read Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency?
ok, it's joke. but for those who don't get it: elliptic curves don't need primes
Re:Shipping a LaTeX Compiler Behind an Edge App on Wednesday October 21, 2026 @12:31AM (#50176103)
I must first get it compile, the java source is very old, but as it adheres to the TeX-standard modern templates should not be a problem, except for those which ise lua, of course
I don't think the company which installed the fridges would be tech savvy enough for that nor the supermarkets

I'm thinking of a (La)TeX myself, but more in the lines of eXTeX[0], as it is wirtten in Java. [0] https://github.com/tex-other/extex/tree/master
alpine regions in China? I guess I must revisit my Geography lessons
Re:Grace Hopper Celebration Cancelled on Wednesday October 14, 2026 @12:37AM (#50082442)
I have to admit, I suspected the Secretary of War cancelled the funding
Re:Were Software Engineers blue-collar workers all along? on Tuesday October 13, 2026 @05:41AM (#50069074)
I never see myself as a white collar worker, rather a galley slave
a vpn is not as safe as you think it is.
don't connect these to the internet that's how it was done
why would I connect my appliances to the internet in the first place?
Clifford Stoll had a very interesting way to explore how the tracks were covered. he wired a printer to every terminal and let every input be printed. in the times of USB that should be a lot easier
question for those who use it: is it necessary to put the machine in the local network in order for it to work?
wouldn't that qualify as gross negligence?
it's not biofuels only, it' plastics from biomass as well but for a review it lacks some depth
