That's true, but also some companies cough Nvidia cough have drivers that aren't up to snuff with an OPEN SOURCE system. It's crazy that the software is FREE to access and really there would be no need to pay any real fees to develop better drivers for systems. AMD is one of the big players that has actually been working with the community to help support their cards.

Even if a game performs better on PC, whose to say it isn't optimized? Some of Vavle's own games have performed better via the Linux build compared to Windows or Mac. It's also super sketchy to not be able to see what's fully happening in one's system.

Sounds like Pucatrade without the extra steps.

You can swap "Nvidia" and "Wayland developers" and still end up with an equally valid argument.

SirCmpwn has a patreon. If you feel the need to help pay for him to develop a feature, you can. He can't maintain everything especially with the hardware working against him.

Reddit is a whole different story. Especially with the brigading that happens quite often in some sub-reddits but yes, HN users tend to be better at self moderation and the mod team has also done a pretty good job at running the site. Transparency will only benefit the users and allows us to see why some decisions were made and how we can fix them moving forward if we need to.

After he releases 1.0, they are doing to focus on wlroots which he does mention in the post. It is looking really promising and even now sway is still very usable.

Well, if you dug a bit deeper and checked out the github repo it stands for: "SirCmpwn's Wayland compositor" I think the reference you are trying to draw is unrelated.
Edit: Found it on Wikipedia. Ignore me but the Sway acronym still stands.

Really, the users police themselves for the most part. People aren't as obnoxious as many Reddit users tend to be. That being said, the front page changes a good amount during the day so nothing really sits at the top for awhile unless it is a really popular post. The last one Drew submitted dropped down pretty quick if I remember correctly.

That sounds like having an irc client connected to say ZNC. It has all of the same features and has been around for years..
