It's really useful for those who have challenges typing (arthritis, disabilities etc..), perhaps not best for general audience as typing with auto complete is faster.
Why is the payment gateway the judge here? File a complaint in consumer court.
I am using it at the moment. Writing down monthly goals is helping me a ton in terms of focus and productivity!

Depending on how valuable the videos are, you might consider sending a legal notice to Google.
Re:Ask HN: Any no-frets way to setup a resume website? on Tuesday January 25, 2022 @01:14AM (#30068750)
GitHub pages is a good way. Here is how to do it https://pages.github.com/

Note I'm in no way associated with GitHub apart from that I use their git hosting solution.

I used the same technique of having the keyboard layout away from the keys and moving to a different key layout. I'm currently using monkey type to train myself.
Re:Vim9 Script Feature-Complete on Saturday January 01, 2022 @11:39AM (#29760034)
This seems like a too smart for your own good situation.

Just because you can write a programming / scripting language doesn't mean you should.

There are tons being developed already, why not just adopt one of those.

I support NeoVims decision of going the lua route.

Re:Ask HN: How do you validate demand for your side-project? on Sunday December 26, 2021 @08:21PM (#29698045)
Set an expectation that you plan to launch by some date and collect email id. If they are willing to share their email then that shows they are really interested.

Fake door testing. Create a marketing page and see the reaction you get.
Re:DoorDash will require all employees to deliver goods on Friday December 24, 2021 @11:01PM (#29680273)
My company in South East Asia has been doing this for years now, we are in ride hailing and food delivery business among others.

Why is it important?

It drives empathy. Testing in non-production environment can tell that the feature is working as expected but it can't tell what the delivery person goes through or what the customer experience is like.

Our policy is not one trip but one day of doing this.

Overall it drivers a deeper appreciation towards deliver agents.

Great engineering teams focus on problems over products or milestones.

Scrum is an abject failure.

Java is an abject failure.

Cardano is the best crypto currency.

I think I've nailed the art of clickbait titles.

Ask HN: Have you felt that Clojure is a bad version of Common Lisp?

I am not sure why I feel this way. Clojure on the outset looks like a perfectly fine coding language. However when I started using it I didn't feel that same elegance I would with Common Lisp.I am unable to articulate why I feel this way. It's most likely because the Clojure code base I dealt with wasn't up to the mark.Any views around the same? Have you felt this way?

I've mentioned in my post that I'm not looking for inputs on how to deal with my situation.

I want to hear about the experiences of others in such situations.

The question - What's the experience and how / if they dealt with it.

I am not looking for any advice on how to deal with this situation, I am influential and at a senior role as well.

But I wanted to hear experience that other's have had.

The person is actually Canadian. Generally a mild culture.
