Ask PG: Why did you disable iframe viewing of comments?

Hi PG,I use the excellent Hacker News reader by Josh Huckabee every day - http://hn_reader.joshhuckabee.com and a few days ago it stopped displaying comments of HN stories. After getting in touch with him he says there is now a new HTTP header preventing HN pages being displayed in an iframe. Can I ask why this is and whether it would be possible to reconsider that decision? Part of the beauty...

Thank you - I guess that's the push I need to take that step.
Thanks ciarog, you said it much more clearly than me!
Perhaps I didn't explain it as well as I could have done (or I don't fully understand Tumblr) but this would be more of an opportunity for people to put out a single post, without needing the full on "their own tumblr". I'm thinking especially people like me (and much of HN I imagine) who don't have the time to put in in maintaining a blog. With Tumblr and Posterous, you never really own the canvas either - I am looking at something whereby you can choose whether you have ads or not or you can pay etc.

Thank you though for your thoughts - it really helps.

Ask HN: Would this easy 'blogging' network be of interest to you?

I'm looking to address a pain point that I have come up against often - having thoughts that would make great blog posts but no time or motivation to go through the hassle of having a full blown blog.I've outlined what I have created here: http://idea.kickofflabs.com/If you are interested please sign up there or drop me an email at [email protected]. It would be great to hear from you.

Re:Path uploads your entire iPhone address book to its servers on Tuesday February 07, 2012 @06:28PM (#3564195)
Just a quick note to also point out, regarding this from the CEO: "if you'd like your account deleted, including all data, we're happy to do this as well."

I emailed to have my Path account deleted a few weeks ago and was told it had been 'deactivated'. After querying this, it was confirmed that they did not yet have the functionality to delete your data, only hide it. Worrying that he said they can.

Agreed; surely there must be a limit on submissions per day?
