Really appreciate Matz stepping up to take on this difficult situation. As a Japanese developer, I’ve been worried about the direction things were going, so it’s reassuring to see this.
"boutoku" (冒涜) ?

Re:You’re not writing code, you’re solving problems on Sunday March 29, 2020 @11:17AM (#22719665)
I think game is art. Art is made for publish thought of creater, which has power that solves real-world problems. Writing game code (art) is equals to solving problems.
Funny, but personal information is not published at most cases. Non-published information is out of discussion. So you miss the point.

Awesome. Advantage has been added. GitLab is better than GitHub, I think.

Re:OpenShot – Open-Source Video Editor on Tuesday April 23, 2019 @10:03AM (#19728660)
Hm, you are right. I was paranoiac.

Then, I'll bet on AV1. Final encoder method also sounds good.

Thank you for your reply!

Re:OpenShot – Open-Source Video Editor on Tuesday April 23, 2019 @08:58AM (#19728116)
OpenShot uses ffmpeg, so I'm always concerned patents like h.264, h.265, etc. Open-source video editor is very very great, but software patents prevent that popularization. I know that end-user will unlikely asked responsibility, but editing video means you may be content distributor, not just a end-user...I have a little fear for that. And patent license cost is not cheap. Am I paranoiac?
I think Australia's movement is coming from China. It will go for large scale censorship.
Re:Mozilla WebThings on Friday April 19, 2019 @06:25AM (#19698341)
A competitor, Samsung SmartThings has sandboxed-app system. It enables users to operate IoT machines with groovy based programming language.

Things Gateway also can control IoT machines, but its simple rule-based system. It is currently losing point and improvable feature.

I'm very excited with Things Gateway philosophy, so I can't wait for its next evolving.

I'm Japanese studying cyber security at university, and very nervous now. Sigh.
Re:Royalty Free No Copyright Music for All Your Projects on Wednesday January 30, 2019 @08:51AM (#19034974)
Thank you for your reply.

IANAL, but yes, I think your license is not CC0.

CC0 is "public domain". It is intended to abandon all copyrights. So if you want to publish music under the license, you can't argue any restriction.

And, Unsplash license is currently not CC0. It WAS originally CC0.

I like your philosophy, so I want to agree with you, but I cannot help concerning about licensing issues on FLOSS or mix-in usages...

Quote from the license text : > This license does not include the right to compile music from WOWA to replicate a similar or competing service.

I think this clause coflicts with CC0, or prevent bundling into FLOSS (e.g. GPLed one). Am I wrong? For example, Pixabay's image, which has such a clause in the license, was recently banned using with WordPress theme (because WordPress is GPLv3). I am getting very nervous about such a clause, but I know CC0 is weak for trolls... Annoying.
