what is the underling filesystem for your kv store, it doesn't appear to use raw devices.
I always like the equlateral triangle with the top half removed to for a rombus, the shape is used in the mosaic virus. now I understand my attraction to it, thanks!

I think corporate cloud killed opensource, AI is simply a nail in its coffin. OpenAI's recent announcement did more for software patents than anyone could have ever done when they floated they own of your ideas.

An excellent example of the political utility of AI, and how long it takes to figure out that it isn't as useful as the hype might make you think.
Re:The State of AI Coding Report 2025 on Wednesday December 17, 2025 @06:10PM (#46306876)
clearly selling the report to business people whom don't code. Like most things in the AI arena today, the report is BS about a system the mostly create technical debt and is sold as intelligence.

I haven't read HN for a while, this appears to just be an advertisement, did the rules change and advertisements for new products are promoted like product placement in movies?

asking for a friend that liked this space

after reading this I purchased fuck-ai.com and decided to write a little website to accumulate writings such as the OP, alas the ai-written code isn't done yet, gotta say I feel simular to waht the author experenced.
Keeping away form VCs that "know better" how to monetize my time seems like a proven technique for managing my time. Money I create directly impacts my loved ones.
Re:Oceans May Have Already Seen 1.7°C of Warming on Tuesday February 06, 2024 @12:40PM (#39277603)
explain flat soft drinks... Your beer, champaign, and all carbonated drinks contain CO2 that is dissolved in solution and as the temperature increases as it sits in your glass the CO2 comes out of solution.

This isn't an IQ test: now think of the oceans, as temperature changes the solubility of CO2 changes inversely proportional to temperature just like your soda pop becomes flat when it warms up. Additionally this is why soft drinks are served cold.

Bottomless outrage seems to be the outlet for a life unlived, unfulfilled. Do something constructive by ignoring thoughts that beg for influence and abuse logic.
Re:Awareness at Death on Wednesday October 11, 2023 @05:38PM (#37850579)
At the end of 2022 I caught Legionaries and arrived at the hospital with 48% O2 saturation and promptly slipped into a coma. Next came a trake and a respirator which was placed in a medically induced coma. I was unconscious for almost 2 months in the ER. I'd get CPR twice and once I awoke fully the head nurse came in and asked (once I could talk) how it was to meet Jesus. I didn't meet Jesus but I did hang with several dead friends, some aliens and at least one deity. The dreams were most vivid and I now look at death as a physical phenomena, I do believe that my spirit persists. I'm glad that I get to continue with this life and I'm grateful for all the days, good or bad. The "dreams" were 90% dark/bad but having survived those makes today just wonderful.
Re:Ask HN: Could you share your personal blog here? on Wednesday July 05, 2023 @10:11AM (#36600737)
https://cyberwarhead.com/ I write about my life farming and flying and a bit on my thoughts on current events, like a few times i died recently.
Seems like a lot of work. Greenhouses sometime need shade so we coat them in 50lb bags of Hydrated lime (Calcium Hydroxide) which can be purchases for really cheap. While I enjoyed the video when I have thousands of squarefeet that need coverage hydrated lime works great.
Having recently recovered from Legionnaires where I was in a medically induced coma for nearly 2 months where I received CPR twice for flat-lining here is my experience... I didn't know what happened but I did get to meet deities, aliens and participate in a bunch of sci-fi oriented excursions. In short I learned about where the mind goes under a lot of drugs and I appreciate the experience. It was easier to remember and clearer than dreams. As to the bright light -- I thought it was nuclear war :) It a long "bad trip" but recovering well, thanks to a great community of concerned friends and healers.
Re:Flesh and Page: The laborious process of making parchment on Sunday February 26, 2023 @12:47PM (#34947516)
this article complains about the vagueness of many descriptions of making parchment and forget the context of the middle ages where just about everyone knew how to skin an animal. The more skilled knew how to remove hair from a skin. Ignoring what must have been common knowledge back then for vague or incomplete descriptions leaves me with little joy or love for this work.
For those that stood up against the erosion of our most basic human rights during the greatest psy-op in living history, thank you for your service

While I disagree with Desmit's analysis on who to hold accountable, I do find his thoughts on the formation interesting.

Re:Excess mortality in Germany 2020-2022 on Sunday August 28, 2022 @07:57PM (#32633388)
The two researchers actually have a number of publications in data science, please sniff again. Your kind of argument is called a an appeal to an irrelevant authority. You also forgot to cite your sources or link to the data you are advocating for. Please consider taking the time to properly advocate your point
Re:Excess mortality in Germany 2020-2022 on Sunday August 28, 2022 @07:45PM (#32633307)
I disagree, having an open and honest debate on the topic is actually useful. We should be able to disagree yet continue the dialog.
Re:Excess mortality in Germany 2020-2022 on Sunday August 28, 2022 @07:38PM (#32633261)
Its not crazy if we just talk data and statistics. I find the intersection with vax mandates and the overwhelming datasets coming from Germany and Israel and the UK quite interesting. So lets just stick with facts and debate those.
