Findaway is a leader in the audiobook space, and we're expanding the team working on our newest product — Findaway Voices. Findaway Voices helps authors get their books turned into audiobooks, and then distribute them across the globe with our audiobook API, AudioEngine.

We're looking for great developers to help us build new features that add value for authors and narrators, tools that make it easier to produce high-quality audiobooks, and automation to help us move more efficiently. We're making big waves in the publishing industry, and we're just getting started.

Our tech stack is React/Redux SPA on the frontend, and Python/Django/DRF on the backend and everything is hosted on AWS.

Well that's an awesome comment for us to read! Thanks for the feedback. We're offering our five launch titles for free right now to our earliest users, but we do plan on selling content in the near future :)

Hey everyone, we just released DuoBook today, an app that provides alignment between the eBook and audiobook versions of a story. We built this in 12 weeks with a team of three, and are launching with a very small catalog (more content is on the way soon). Alex (lead iOS developer) and I (product lead) are here, and would love to answer any questions you have, or just hear your thoughts on DuoBook!

Glad to see Shoe Dog on this list, that was one of the most memorable books I listened to this year (the audiobook narration was awesome). It's always interesting hearing the origin story and struggles of a company that was the underdog in the industry for so long, and ended up on top. I thought Phil Knight's account of his journey with Nike was really honest and thoughtful, I had no idea how long it took them to get momentum, or how many times they were on the brink of bankruptcy. Can't recommend this enough, I'm looking forward to reading it a second time next year.

This was my experience too. It simply has to work 100% of the time, and unfortunately doesn't. Actually wrote this up just yesterday:

I think the benefit with using beacons would be that you can be anywhere within ~70 meters of the item and get a notification to help out. You don't have to even see it to be able to help.

It's a pretty simple extension that just appends a bunch of negative keywords to a Swift search. I built it out of frustration with how often Taylor Swift showed up in my Google search results. Welcoming feedback!
